Hey guys, I thought it would be nice to have some Tegs there with us so I posted over at Team-Integra.net. A couple of replies so far. It'll be nice to seem some CL's on the track. Last time I was at etown I was hanging out with the guys from HART (Honda of America Racing Team) Great group of guys, there were running an Accord and an older model CL. See all of you there, looking forward to the competition (you wouldnt want to get beat by a girl now would you??)

something that bothers me...the bracket breakdown...originally, i wanted to have the RSX's/Teg's compete in 1, and CL's/TL's compete in another to b the most fair, but after talking to E-town, they felt 15 seconds would b a good mark to use as a guide...prob is if it's cold, those who run around 15 seconds will surely run below...ill bet even the RSX'ers will run below 15 also...so there's gotta b a better system

u wanna use my original idea??? 1 bracket for RSX/Teg (top half to RSX's & bottom half for Teg) and another for CL/TL?? what bout guys who have headers/intake/spraying???

what if the brackets were created based off of practice runs earlier in the day??? and we'll use either an average of runs, or if u do 1 run, that run determines yer spot...if we decided on this option, that would mean everyone who wanted to compete MUST participate in time trials beforehand...besides, yer payin $25...might as well get at least 3 or more runs in before the competition starts so u can tune yer car as best as possible

i'm just trying to keep this as fair as possible...if it were my decision, i'd do practice runs to determine bracket position, kinda like how NHRA/Nascar/etc. determines positions...but i'd b more than happy to hear suggestions

sorry for the lengthy post

i say 15secs like englishtown wants it. otherwise, you might have people who didn't get to run or didn't their ET's lower enough in time for the brackets etc., etc.,

Honestly it doesn't matter to me... I'm just curious as to what my car can do. I only have an intake and exhaust... so with my 18's... I won't be that fast.

I'm not expecting to win anything at all.. just looking to have fun. Honestly though... I'd prefer to race against CLs/TLs... not only b/c it's more even.. but b/c I know all of you guys... I don't know any of the RSX guys b/c I don't hang on their boards....

my best time is 15.1 and since the weather will be cooler there's a decent chance that I will break into the 14's therefore it will be tough for me to determine what bracket. I'd rather have 14.5 be the division between brackets, just an idea....

I'll most likely be going ... Posted this over in the Acura-TL.com forum, but it looks like this is the place most people are talkin ... Don't have any mods what-so-ever (maybe I'll get a CAI before next month), but I think it'll definitely be fun to see what my car can do and to meet a lot of people!

Originally from NJ and will be up there that weekend anyways... So I figure why not?

sounds good. We'll probably have a 2-4 car caravan heading up.

Depending on what time you get there you'll know from your practice runs during the early part of the day.

well if this is bracket racing then there's gonna be handicaps correct? so if i'm running consisent 14.1-14.2's lets say, and i'm up next to an rsx and he's running 15.3, then i'm sure they'll be a handicap, which is also where the practice runs come in, i'll be on drag radials so its gonna take 2-3 runs to get used to them.

i doubt there will be a handicap. The brackets will probably be decided on the days previous runs or what the car will most likely run based on mods and driver.

after thinking about it, what if we broke up the 1 and 2 brackets into 2 sub brackets?? have 1A for 15.5+, 1B 15.0 - 15.5, 2A for 14.5 - 15.0, and 2B for 14.5-

i mean if u run 14.8 and get matched up with someone with NOS running high 13's, what good is that???

i think they're r 8 trophies, so we have 4 right there, then fastest CL, TL, RSX/Teg, and fastest overall

You say fastest, does that mean we are running heads up? I thought this was bracket racing, just means you have to get closer to your dial-in than the guy next to you without breaking out. Doesn't mean you have to be faster than him.

i was thinking NHRA style, where the fastest person wins, hence sub-brackets...but dial-in's r fine too

i wanted to point out that since this is an all-day affair, i'm sure u guys r gonna get real hungry...i asked management at E-town bout the possibility of leaving the track to go get a bite somewhere and come back...the consensus was that they do not think it's a good idea to leave, however, if u must, u would have to get yer hand stamped...so it sounds to me like u can, but they don't particularly like it if u do that

with that said, i think it would b a good idea to pre-pack some food/snacks and "brown-bag" it...then maybe we can have a few people go in 1 car and trek out to get any additional stuff...also bring plenty of layers in case it is frigid/windy...with the weather being what it has been this week, i'd venture to say it's gonna b VERY cold, but u never know...E-town does have its own concession area, but the selection is limited

I’d join in, but I’ll be coming from up north a bit.
I’ll probably be taking I-78 into Jersey and then RT-287 south.

Shawn S

PS….. Anyone know how many CL’s & TL’s we're expecting to show ???

So far I count about 15 rsxs and 6 integras from the tristate area, however some will be spectating, not racing.....

It also seems as if some MD and PA rsx's are also going to make the trek out.... looks like this is gonna be some good competition!!
