Hey guys, i received a PM about this meet and I am thinking about going. Is there going to be any need worry about cop trouble at wilson skate park. I dont have a front plate on my car right now (it broke off and I lost it). I dont want to have to worry about getting a ticket.

I think the idea of flipping burgers in the parking lot is not so good. Not so much because of the hassle but because it will be chilly and for a cook-out I think we need some sort of permit ahead from the park authorities. Parking and just chilling there doesn't, its public park.
The only time I heard of people getting tickets for not having front plates is if driver is already breaking the law by speeding or such and then on top of that, or parked without anyone there (alley, street, etc).

Old Orchard in Skokie sounds good as a back-up except one thing...It will be packed to the last spot. Full ALWAYS, lived in Skokie for years, still in the area, we go there a lot on weekends, its jam-packed. There is an alternative. There is a good multi-floor garage on the other side of Skokie close by Wal-Mart and Best Buy. When I go there with my girlfriend and don't want to risk being scratched by some punk kid, I park on the 3rd floor, more then 70% is empty at the peak times at night on weekends (garage is for a movie theater but free and public).
Exact address is 7020 Carpenter Rd, Skokie, IL. From 94, you go west on Toughy Rd to Carpenter Rd (about a mile down Toughy from 94) and then you turn left on Carpenter and the garage is on the right hand side, behind Buffalo Wild Wings. Sounds complicated but its not. I can guarantee space is huge and no chance of not enough room for all of us.
Just something to consider.

why don't we still plan on Wilson for now and maybe by thursday/friday we'll have a better idea if the weather will be nice or not.

hey watch out for cops in Racine... coming up there from chicago I got a nasty 4 pt ticket last summer for passing a truck... had a guy w/ a radar gun up on a bridge and a line of 5 or 6 cops waiting to be deployed on the entrance ramp. $270 dollars later (oh and not to mention $150 to lawyer up) it was reduced to a 1pt defective speedometer ticket but i coulda done w/o the hassle. plus it made me late for my meeting in cedarburg that day.

Zeus, if we end up going to Skokie garage, you'll shave off 20 min of your drive.

I might have the car back from the shop. I might be in Chicago with or without the car. I might have time to come to the meet if apartment shopping doesn't work out.
I may be at the meet...
