ok, so time is the current issue...

1.) I say we can meet there at about 1:30 to 2ish (arrival),
2.) 2 - 3/3:30ish, we talk and take pictures, and enjoy the road.
3.) 3/3:30ish - 3:45ish we drive to Old Orchard and park on the roof of the parking garage (since the parking lot is always full)
4.) 3:45 - when you're homesick we relax at Old Orchard. ( i might wait for evening pics if i feel like it...)

this is my general ideas for now. Again, I will send all of this in the formal PM.

just out of curiousity, what exactly goes on at these meets? Im interested in going but my TSX is bone stock and dont see a point in going to any meets with nothing to show.

Bone stock, you still have a couple days to change that!!...J/K.

It doesn't matter if you have any mods or not, just come to hang out and check admire other cars. This meet could be inspiration to start modding if that was something that you thought about doing. Even if your car is stock maybe you have Nav, or your interior color is different from some of our other members, and we will want to take a peek.

If you have any questions/problems with your car, this is the perfect way to meet people in your area that own the same car, that might be able to help you out if you are in a bind. It's kind of like networking within a specific communitiy. Instead of chatting with everyone over the forum, you get to meet face to face.

NOTE: This is being sent to 40 people so the following information is for Honds/ Acura people ONLY!! b/c of the limited space.

When: Sunday, July 9th
Why: B/c we can and for Acura's 20th B-day.
Where(general): Skokie Lagoons in the NE suburbs. I recommend finding the map on "images" on Google.com, but you can take the I-94 Edens North to the East Willow exit or the East Dundee road exit (both get you to the same Skokie Lagoons!!)
Where(specific): in Skokie lagoons there is a stop sign 1/2 way between Willow and Dundee roads. We will be meeting on the more Northern 1/2 (the 1/2 of the Lagoons by Dundee road)
When: 1. Arrival: 2:00 - 2:30; 2. look at cars and talk w/ people 2:30 - 3:30; 3. leave and arrive at Old Orchard (right down the I-94) 3:30-4:00 (the most logical cruise!!); 4. hang out at Old Orchard 4:00 - you get tired!!
Other Details: @ Old Orchard, the parking lot is always full, where are an estimated 40 cars gonna park? We are parking on the roof of the Parking garage right by the expressway! (When the sun goes down, my camera will be ready!)

Yeah, there should be at least 10-15 cars there, that's a very realistic number out of the 40+ people who know about it.

There's a 75% chance that a NSX will show up at least for a little while. The story goes that my friend from work has a brother who used to be the president of a street racing Acura club....

So if you don't know if you wanna go, just come and hit 90m.p.h. coming out of the apex of Skokie Lagoon's 8 sweepers, take pics of your Ack, enjoy the company of fellow Acura lovers, cruise down the 94, and eat at Old Orchard with your new found friends.

I don't see why you wouldn't go if you have nothing else to do!!

Ok get those cars washed for tomorrow!!

this will be really fun. I'm hoping to get a ride in a Type-S around the lagoons since mine is only a CL-P.

Just remember that the lagoons are extreme close to the 94, actually right off of it!! So if you keep going East looking for something, you're going too far!

the street in the lagoons is Forest Way. There really is no sign that says Skokie LAgoons, which i can't explain why!

look for a white 3.2CL. I'll be there around 2, trying to get a nice spot.

hey, very good turnout as was mentioned before. It was awesome to finally meet some Acura people from Chicago (the reason why i set up the meet).

We had some really nice stuff (13 in all): from the classic legend, to a 6 speed CL, to a red Cl-S w/ every mod there is (including nitrous!), four doors also represented w/ a beautiful TL-S that drove from WI, and plenty of TSX's as well as other nice TL-S's.

I wanna say sorry to a Red CL-S that I spotted driving away. We moved from Skokie Lagoons to a nearby parking lot at 2:50 b/c it was so hot. I went back to look for people. On the way, a red Cl drove away (Sorry man!!), but i was able to find the latebird, Ill TL.

I had a good time at the meet. It was cool to finally put some faces with some names. We should set up some more of these meets so we can drum up some interest with more people. The lagoons was nice but maybe next time we can meet at the beach, so we have some better scenery
