Arizona Meet
 

Hey, just seeing if anybody in AZ is interested in getting together once it cools down about 40 degrees... just post if your interested and lets see how many people we can get together

I'd be interested - Saturday's are best for me (Sunday's are out).

I'm always down for an Azine meet, Brad. Hopefully we can get a little more participation than the last attempted meet. Oh and a better meeting spot!

BTW saw you about a month ago in the Tempe Market Place parking lot frbut I was on the other side, just recognized your TSX. I would have said 'sup if we crossed paths.

Jerome is a nice place, but kinda far. I wonder if there's a cool place to meet in Phoenix? I love the drive up South Mountain, too. There's a parking lot up near the TV towers that is usually less packed than the summit parking lot. That would be pretty fun, but I don't know how long we'd be able to all chill up there before the rangers told us to move on. Any other ideas?

How far of a drive to Jerome? Cool places in Phx? I don't think there is any...lol Meet at Anthem again at their huge ass park?

i am definately down... but for weekends only though, i have to be at work early during the week, and i am in yuma. I am in Tucson the first weekend of every month, and i can come to phoenix any other weekend, lets see some dates and places... I vouch for meeting in phoenix, since it is the most central place in the state, that way no one will be doing too bad of a drive, so it will be balanced out a little.

Jerome is about an hour or so up the I-17 right before hitting Sedona. Cool town though kinda far for a meet. LOL Anthem sucks, dude! No more of that junk, especially when you have to pay to park at a lake. Phoenix will work, we just have to find an appropriate spot.

Welcome! I'm from Mesa. Hopefully we can nail down a spot and all meet up.

Okay, let's start throwing out some ideas guys. I've already suggested South Mountain. It's a cool drive to the top and no cost to get in. There's a few parking lots up top that we might be able to chill in, the only problem being how busy it may be since the weather is getting nicer now. I know Alex a.k.a. Littletruong has met up with some AZHT members at Tempe Market Place and the security guys were cool with them meeting in the parking lot, but that was a while ago and it's more busy now that all the stores are up and running so I don't know if that would work or not. I know they've met at Kiwanis Park in Tempe before, too. Lots of parking lots there.

Any other suggestions on locations or dates? How does Saturday, November 15th sound for everyone? Any weekend of November works for me personally, besides Thanksgiving weekend of course.

Hmm, i need to check my work schedule for that day. I think Kiwanis Park would be a good place to meet up. Hey Todd, where is South Mountain?

The way in is just south of Baseline Rd on Central Ave in Phoenix. You know that huge mountain you can see with all the TV towers that light up red at night? That's South Mountain. Check it out:

Dang, everyone works on the weekends, huh? That's going to make it tough to have a meet. I see this meet falling through much like the last one that resulted in Wilson and myself being the only ones that showed up, well, besides Brad who went flying by us in his TSX lol!

haha, Well, i can probably do it on the 16th...I'm pretty sure i don't have to work that day, but i can be wrong. Lets see how many people we can get to go on the 16th. If there's not much than lets aim for a later date, probably in December? Want to give people at least 2 weeks or more in advance so they can't say they we didn't give them enough time...haha

Wow i need to start checking this thread. I would be able to make it on the 16th. I wonder how long we could hang out at the top beore they kick us out.

Im good for the 16th too, pretty much anytime of the day. Does anybody have a nice camera and photography experience?

I'm not sure, but if we do get kicked off the top we could always just park and hang out at one of the ramadas. In the link I posted it says that groups under 50 don't need any kind of permision to have a get together at one of the ramadas, so we'd be fine there I think.

IIRC Wilson is going to school for photography. I'm a graphic designer so I have a pretty decent knowledge of photography and I have a Canon digital camera (with a cracked LCD screen from hiking lol) and tripod.

What time you guys thinking? Maybe 1PM or so?
