Perhaps...where are you? Maybe we could do lunch if you're in The Valley, if we can't get others interested.

What should this "meeting" involve? I am a member of another vehicle club, and we have once-monthly get-togethers at an In-N-Out Burger location.

If there's enough interest, perhaps we could all run a scenic paved twisty road, such as any of the east-west routes between I-280 and Hwy 1 or a trip up to Mt. Diablo or Mt. Hamilton.

Whatever the case, we should try to do this while the weather is dry.

Let's think of some good twisties (backroads) to explore, with perhaps a "destination" for lunch or some other place to "hang out" in mind.

Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the east bay. Do those roads have interesting scenery or high viewpoints? For me, it's not so much the canyon carving as the destination (which can only be reached by canyon carving).

twisty backroads is all i do if i race, I don't know many scenic backgrounds but i can tell u that if u want, we can do berkeley hills and then that is also a nice set of twisties and then with the view of the bay area. Hwy 17 to santa cruz, there are many of these nice twisties. For me I race them going at like 70-80, running like a champ, but if u want a nice drive and juss to meet some people, I say we meet at Emeryville. We can do a photo shoot or something

Well, count me out if racing is what you want to do, dude. I don't believe I would refer to racing 70-80mph on Hwy 17 running "like a champ".... more "like an idiot". Be sure to tell us when and where you go racing at 70-80mph so we can stay far away from that road.

I second that. BTW I'm in San Jose, near Meridian and I-280.

If you want a good run, from Palo Alto take Page Mill over the mountains to Pescadero. I'd be more in favor of something where we can meet in a parking lot and then people can go off driving if they like.

Heh. I do agree that 17 is a fun freeway as far as they go, but getting out of that and really into the small mountain roads is a more enjoyable experience for me, especially with the windows down and the moonroof open.

i'm game

Just got my CG TSX a couple weeks ago and would love to meet and talk. Keep me updated on where and when. South Bay/Pennisula works best for me.

Time/place? I suggest a place with a good sized parking lot where people can just show up and stay from a range of a few minutes to a very long time (whatever works for them). There could be a fairly hard start time and then people can stay as they want. Then people can do a drive if they want to (see above) or maybe get some Food. I know I've seen a Camero meet at I-280 & Wolf in Cupertino right next to the T.G.I. Friday's, which shares massive parking lots with the Cupertino mall. Don't know my plans at the moment, but depending what my wife is up for maybe we'd stop by for a little while on that date or another.

7pm on a Saturday evening is pretty late. What would be the purpose of the meeting if it occurred at night?

Hanging out and gawking at each others' cars at night in the cold air (if it actually would get cold around here soon) doesn't sound very exciting to me. "Oooo, my TSX is just like yours, except it's just a different color!"

IMO, a scenic drive would be far more interesting.

most people are in the south south bay I see... im in Concord, but i don't mind driving. I went on hwy 9 a week ago, and that is a good run, and it leads to a nice scenic spot on the top of the mountain where we can talk and take some pictures, but because of the time difference and since it is getting dark a bit earlier now adays, I think we should do it during sometime around 1 to 5pm, when the light is still out. November 15 is a good week because its not between anything and its before thanks giving... lets do it soon, because we been talking about it WAY too much and way too long, and we arn't doing anything about it
