For a pure central location easy to find and plenty of room, 05 TL 6-Speed is right. Woodward park is large and easy to gather a lot of people. It may not be the beach but mountain roads are our backyard. Bass Lake is about 50 miles away and Yosemite is probably another 40 miles more.

i will get more info on the meeting spot for Pismo, but i need more info on what we're doing.
will we bbq? have games? what?!
the park requires some fee for using the bbq pit. i think it would be best to do it at the park with the bbq pit as it also has a huge parking lot, additional parking lot next door for an additional 50+ cars, full court bball court, picnic benches, large field, and its pretty easy access off the fwy.
someone should take charge in organazing the caravan meeting spots, collecting money for food and other expenses, and i'll make sure to get the key(i think that's all we need to get for the bbq pit) once we collect the money for it.
if that's too complicated, we could just hit up a food spot as well and just fend for ourselves.
so yea, IDEAS!!!

i know of many locations with huge parking lots that do not get full.
The Pismo Beach area has the huge park i was talking about above, not to mention about 3 other parks, the outlet stores, the mini-mall, etc... ALL with parking to accomodate 100+ cars and they're ALL less than a 1/4 mile from the 101FWY.
my 2 cents:
i do want to cruise with a nice caravan to a central spot, THAT'S THE BEST PART, but at least this drive is not boring, but yet it is scenic and some-what curvy.
going to Fresno is just a straight shot in a desert!

additionally, pismo has backroads literally down the street from these spots. fun twisties and not many cars either!
i have gone on many runs around San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County, which is adjacent to SLO.
we can hit up wine country, danish towns, etc. Solvang is a great spot to hit up and has many fun twisties all around there and around Pismo.

So uh, how about one of moderator's who are in on this little shin-dig, jump in and make an executive decision about place and date...we can always figure out the time later. We need a town and a day...that is the main thing we are looking to set in stone right now. It is obviously Pismo/SLO or Fresno...just pick the spot and lets all say okay rather than bash one or the other...agreed?

OK I have read every single page, but I don't want to be at the head of setting this thing up. I will however help whoever does take the lead. Pismo IS the place that 85% of the people have agreed on. LIPPSTUH or any mod, Feel free to take control. I'm sure everyone would appreciate it and close down this thread after your done reading through it and start off clean with that info with polls for a date. Assuming location is Pismo, CA for sure.

We are not doing a meet at walmart! clubsi did their meet there because, well, they are club "SI"! Lol I'm not driving down to pismo beach to stand outside a walmart!

not to mention what you are, but that is where we met up. afterwards we went to a park and had a bbq, played ball, etc.
just curious, but why were you there if you werent part of the club?
on topic:
i do not think there is any area right by the beach that could accomodate such a large amount of cars we expect.
the places i know of around Pismo are parks, outlets, etc. I think a park would be our best bet.

there were so many cars, we needed a place to park them all in a line for pictures

Guys, I'm happy to plan out the meet but I'm crazy with work this time for the last few months already so if anyone can plan, please do so. I don't really know I can make to the meet let alone planning it. IMO, meeting around June is good or even July 4th is cool too. May is little too close for planning such a big meet. One thing we need to do first is pick a date and get permit from the city we plan to meet. Big crowd like us will surely attract cops and if we got kick out at the meeting place will ruin the meets.
