I'm a maybe for 3/28. I have to get my clutch rebuilt before doing any roadtrip and 'spirited' driving between now and then, more like between 3/6 and 3/28.

I'd also like to get my timing belt done too. I'm at 113k already and I've got ~4 months to go till my 5th anniversary with the car.

i have been looking at maps for potential routes. we have driven out SW of town basically every meet. we have made our food stop be the Salt Lick out in Driftwood, Gruene and Luckenbach last fall. I would like to try and go that that restaurant (Gristmill?) we went to in Gruene that one year. They had ample parking and a nice outdoor area while waiting on tables. any other ideas?

There is Lime Creek in austin. Its usually a nice twisty route. 2 lane. We had our last cb7tuner meet there. Heres a video. Basically im out in front lol in the green one. I would recommend having good brake pads. Midway on the second run my I smelled plenty of pad burning =D.

The thing about lime creek though now is that it is super busy. Not as much fun as it use to be. Also you have people on bycicles now to avoid as well. Not so much fun when you go around a corner to one in the street.

oh by no means did i want to imply i wanted to go down lime creek. the days of driving that road are gone. i actually liked the drive we took last fall. the only route i hated was the one through the cattle grates and gravel. my undercarriage hated me after that run.

the open roads and swooping turns last fall were perfect imo. i just thought that gruene was nice with parking, trees and good food.

there's a long twisty farm road here in Conroe (right above Houston),

may be this summer u all can come over and we'll go there.

lots of nice turns and I believe no pot holes either. and it usually stays empty!
