ZDX 19" vs. 20" Tires + Price...

From Dallas, TX: Hello Ya'll...!!

Just pulled a trigger on the CPO 2010 ZDX Advance White with Sumatra:
Led Running Board + Spoiler + Mud (??) Guard installed

Been thinking about changing the standard wheel with the OEM 20" (I like the chrome AND its gun metal color...) but a bit concern about the price for the tires (as well as how long it will last)

However, I check Discount Tires and found that actually, the tires for the standard 19" (50, 255) is MORE expensive than the 20" (45, 275)
(About $220 vs $150)

Am I reading this right?

I see that the 19" is guaranteed until 50k or 60k miles. How long would the 20" tires last?

If anybody could provide any insight, I really appreciate it...
Thank you much in advance!

255/50/19 - I believe there is more sidewall. more sidewall = more tire. more tire= higher price.

how long a tire last is completely dependent on the tire and what kind of material is used. A sticky summer tire will wear faster than an all season tire.

One of the reasons for the higher price is due to it being a 19" because they are less common then your 20" options. You will find that most the time you will find cheaper prices on 20" tires compared to 19" tires all day long. Supply and demand really.

Thank you, mugen_kid!

Been eye-ing this super cool vehicle for a while...
Used to have 2005 TL, had to trade it for Pilot due to the in-laws...
Now that they have moved out, wife just gave me permission to get ANY car I want... ;-D

Thanks for the responses. I guess the 20" is a BETTER option anyway
(Now, how do I break this to the wife? ;-)

Another question though: anybody could share on how is the ride with 20" (compared to the 19")?
I also cannot spend too much cash on these wheels... how could I 'get rid'/trade my 19" with the 20"?

Thank you again in advance for your advises.
This site (and Acura) rocks!! ;-)

Check my thread, I just put the OEM 20's on our ZDX.

There is a little bit of ride difference as you have less sidewall rubber and more rim (Metal).

However, the Z rides so cream-puffy to begin with that feeling the road a bit more isn't a bad thing.

So, in short... Is there a difference? Yes there is, but it certainly doesn't ruin the ride at all.

FYI - If you're looking for a good deal on the OEM 20's, hit me up via PM and I'll be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks, BT... ;-)

I'm not able to PM you yet because I'm new...

I've read somewhere in this forum (a while ago) that the 4 rims couldn't fit inside the ZDX
(when replacing them)... I guess I have to drag my wife along for the rim change ;-)

I'm looking forward to PM you soon!

Got it... but I can't reply straight to you there... ;-)

Thank you so much for this info, BT.
I really appreciate it.
I just sent him an email...

I wonder if you trade your stock wheels or you just try to sell those yourself (or maybe keep them)?

Again, thank you much in advance!

No problemo.

No trading anything as I'm a looooong ways away from Nevada. I hope to sell the stock 19's at some point.

I've heard that the TL guys like the stock 19's? Perhaps one of them will want my almost new (476 miles to be exact) ZDX, OEM 19's??
