Rear cargo cover

Well my black rear cargo cover $260 arrived so I thought I will install would be easy !! Well i read instructions but I decided to call Acura because it looked to hard. The guy said yea come down shouldn’t take no more than 10 mins

He found me waiting room with that look that I knew all so well when I owned Saab’s , that “ we got a problem Mr look”$$. He was nice and explained its more too it than he thought.

Welll it’s going to take two hours $220!

if knew I would be spending $260 plus $220
i would have JUST USED A BLACK TOWEL

Since I sometimes travel with expensive vintage guitars (recognizable orig. cases) that requires the rear seatback be folded down, the Acura cargo cover wouldn’t do me any good. I just carry an inexpensive black bedsheet for those instances when I want cargo hidden. Cheaper, and less hassle when transporting very large items that would interfere with the accessory cover.

I bought mine for less than $200 and installed it in less than an hour as well. Acura's instructions make it look harder than it actually is to install the side brackets, and you don't need that "rivet tool" they say you need. I've had mine installed for nearly 5 years with no squeaks or rattles whatsoever. Whoever is charging you $220 should be ashamed or themselves....

Cargo cover

I knew I should have checked on here first!
He said the top lining has to be removed and also they had to get behind where the brackets go so all that has to come off , inside both storage doors
My gut told me that two hours just sounded over kill!
since it’s made for this car I would not think an accessory part would take all that time. Well he made it sound interior pieces had to be removed and cutting was involved
Well thank you for this information , I feel like I over paid now

Wow just that fast I googled cargo cover zdx and found detailed instructions on tech info.honda.com and what he said was not how you install it, you use couple different drill bits and your just drilling where bracket goes no removing all the liner stuff he said and you rivet it on but guess you got around that. How does 6 steps take twice the time ?
looks like your just drilling the brackets on and using rivet nuts and at the end two snaps. I will kindly nicely bring these instructions up there and ask why two hour charge.
I can’t believe I figured the car is so rare that I would not be able to find instructions for this cause I was wrong cause these instructions are way more detailed than what it came with

Looks just like mine same cargo cover, we have same black with light interior ! My previous one was black on black tech but got in a 2013 Advance one day and it had white interior and I fell in love with it. So then I wanted cool seats and lighter interior and features like that Advance model.

Well it ended well , my over charging , I went back up with those detailed instructions and the time table above and said other dealer charges $159 so he gave me a $60 credit. He said oh yea your the one with the cool car ! We don’t see many of those. That’s the fun thing about owning these cars , not that it matters but we don’t have new car price/ payments yet it gets the attention and compliments of one. Then theirs the few non zdx lovers like my two friends that clearly don’t know moving art !
