Oil consumption test
I started this oil test at dealer after receiving letter then checking my oil and it was way low. So I took pic of it and started the 1,000 mile test. After the first test they said well we didn’t have to add any oil and I came unglued , “ I got pic of it are your serious ?? Look at this pic ! It’s a quart low after 700 miles. So he mention if I checked it level ground and my driveway looks level , so I said yes I did.
So I left and decided to check oil in garage , it was full just like dealer showed me , then I rolled out in driveway , it was low !!!! Driveway has a slant that is not obvious so now I’m thinking my car may not have that burning oil issue but will keep eye on it
I did go back yesterday and apologize since I was wrong.
So the slightest non level surface can give you a low reading

The inconvenient truth
Very true I can't check my oil level at home because it's not level. I do it either at work or at the gas station after filling up. Your also supposed to get the engine up to temp, turn it off and wait 10 minutes. Then check by wiping the dip stick clean and reinserting. Quite the procedure really. Good news yours isn't burning oil though. Acura already fixed mine for free.

I watch my oil level and had been noticing it was getting closer to the point to add oil. Then I checked it at a gas station where my car was parked at the forward pump but the front tires were off of the cement pad that the gas pumps were on. The oil level was fine. When I got home, I checked again in the garage and it was low so even a slight grade difference is significant. BTW, unfortunately, I'm not a candidate for the "excessiveoil" fix as I use a quart about ever 3-4 thousand miles.
