My rear brake light bulb is out

I am a bit surprised at 61,000 miles brake bulb out but
it can happen since it’s a 2010 plus it doesn’t look hard so guess I Will do today both bulbs.

Rear light housing to replace brake bulb was not coming out easy.
I tried prying under housing and broke part of my rear tail light. 😡Yes I screamed!!! Then took to dealer and they even had hard time with it but they removed it and got new bulb in.
I clued that broken piece back on but later will replace my rear light housing so it’s perfect again.

Ok! Glad to hear it's woring again!

New light housings can be a PITA! I've broken a few plate light assemblies myself!

You can get a cheap replacement light on eBay!

Always better when replacing head or brake lights just to replace only the one that is burnt out. Much better than having both the new ones burn out at the same time.

Thanks! Good point and I did just that , I only replaced the burnt one. I changed my mind doing both after struggling to remove it.

Yeah, that happens all the time. The life expectancy of light bulbs are always exactly designed down to the last second.

Since bulbs predictably lose intensity over time, a regular schedule of (simultaneous) replacement would likely prevent any unexpected failure.
