Thanks, so it's a continuous type display? I thought it was fewer LEDs with space in between each one. It only lights when you open the doors or push the lock button on the remote?
Your second ZDX? Did you just get it?
How much is gas in Russia?

i think there are leds only at ends of the tube, like in old bmw angel eyes
they light up only when unlocking the car
this zdx belongs to another forum member but i'm planning to get a similar one)
gas is 1$ a litre here, used to be much cheaper before

How do you activate the LEDs? I test drove 2 Zs with r boards and we never could get the LEDs to come on. We tried locking and unlocking the car, setting the lights to automatic, other settings. What's the trick?

Open any door or the tailgate and they illuminate for a certain amount of time. If you press unlock on the remote they illuminate as well. When I do it in my garage they illuminate regardless if the lights are on or not. They could have never wired them up to save time on the install because the wires route through the floorboard and in to the kick panels where the car is prewired with connectors to connect but I doubt it. I bet you could not see but they were lit as its very hard to tell even for me outside during the day. Try taking one to a parking garage before purchase.

both were outside during the day. maybe that is it. I assumed both Zs had the boards installed when new, one had the optional rims too. we def locked and unlocked the car. do you have to open the doors? I assume they light up just from the unlock command.
would be cool if someone hacked them to light with the headlights. for the cost and the limited real use of the boards, and some say negative aspect of their position for any real step use, at least have the lights burn more.

you just push the unlock button on the key fob (while the car is not running ofcourse) and they light up

Lightbulb original lighting...

I'm just so happy that Acura didnt jump on the LED headlight copy cat league like all other manufacturers. Most of their headlights (Acura) are stunning with out them; and then Acura dropped the ZDX with the optional (must have for any ZDX owner) LED running boards that will make even the most stuck up X5/X6/ML/Q/Cayenne owner break their neck checking it out, truly unique piece...

I agree 1000% even Kia (no pun intended) have leds on their base cars now. Its becoming more rare in my area to own a car without the feature. I also agree with the running boards they are amazing. I tried explaining and showing to my wife and she did not really pay attention to them. About a week ago we went out to dinner in the ZDX when walking to the car I hit the unlock and they lit up and she said wow where is the light coming from that is amazing. I told her how I was trying to show her in the garage but she did not really notice.

I am thinking of buying a ZDX. This looks to be a nice feature. Did you guys install yours yourself? Or have the dealer install it for you? How much?
