Has anyone cut their springs?

I know that H&R springs fit our Zs, but could we get away with cutting springs for a 1.5-2" drop for daily driving?

Would this be too hard on our shocks?

Post your experience/thoughts!

what are you? in middle school?

the springs are engineered to have a certain spring rate, cutting them will stiffen them up.

Technically, you could cut the dead coil on the spring, but you'll be wasting a lot of time.

move to an aftermarket spring or dont mess with the suspension at all.

Ok I guess I deserved that. Really just frustrated with the lack of aftermarket support.

I've never cut springs in my life, always went with coilovers etc.

Outside of someone like coilsprings.com or buying the Odyssey H&R springs what options are there? Does someone make a ZDX lowering spring? I haven't seen it if so.

I also know mugen_kid was forced to cut the rear Odyssey springs to create an even drop on the Z so figured cutting was going to happen regardless.

If anyone knows of a Z-specific aftermarket option Id love to hear about it!

Sorry for being brash.
I don't know how to get my point across without being straight forward.

I just believe the engineers designed the car to handle best with its stock spring rate.
Aftermarket companies either mimic stock spring rates or spend on R&D for better rates.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the site and had the same question. So from what I understand, the only way to properly lower the Z would be thru the 05-07 H&R Honda Odyssey springs? How much will this lower it? Has anyone tried it yet? Thanks everyone!

People really need to search more. Don't cut your springs, and don't buy odyssey springs. been there done that. Do it right. Air ride, is really the only solution. Or call coil springs.com I have said this about 100,000,000 times. Research people!!!

I definitely read through your entire thread, done countless searches... and saw that you also sold your Z. But From what I remember you were saying that you were going to look into coilsprings.com at one point, but Didnt see any followup posts so not sure if you ever actually ended up going with them.

I also haven't seen anyone posting their experience with coilsprings.com.

I'm also sure I'm not the only one who thinks there's extremely limited information around this topic.

Regardless, definitely appreciate your input and will touch base with coilsprings.com.

Contact them and see if they have done any ZDX yet. If so find out how low. If not then you will have to send in your factory springs for measurement. Good luck. I would go air ride if you got the money
