Fuel range

Hello everyone,

On a reason trip I average 27.3 mpg in my 2010 ZDX, however I was only able to get 372 miles. In my previous vehicle the same mpg I would had see a range of over 400 miles with a smaller fuel tank. How accurate is the driver information in the ZDX?

Why not simply do the MATH yourself....
Divide miles traveled by the amount of gallons it took to fill up...that way you can find out INSTANTLY whether or not your trip mileage is accurate.

I didn’t think about that, so I took your advice. It took 15.51 gallons to refill the tank according to my receipt from yesterday, so that puts my mpg around 24. So why is there a difference between what the vehicle information said and my calculation?

just some thoughts....

- perhaps the computer rounds to the nearest gallon? or to the nearest point?
- perhaps an average or mean is needed on your calculations..(i would try three fuel ups, calculated by hand)
- perhaps the computer is taking in account of idling? (but then why would it give you greater fuel economy? maybe it averages the value somehow? )
