Audio/Stereo Performance
Another Thread Y'all...
I don't know if this is only on my ZDX,
but recently, I was in my Bro-In-Law Lexus IS250,
I felt that his stereo sounded MUCH better than my ZDX.
It was the stock stereo (not Mark Levinson)
The thing that bothers me the most, is that it was playing the RADIO!!
The bass was deeper, the sound a bit clearer and louder.
Maybe because the IS250 is a smaller car.
So, I was back at setting the ZDX's sound, but, (especially) the RADIO cannot sound as good as the one in Lexus.
Acura's ELS is supposedly one of the best, correct?
Or Lexus' stereo is just simply better?
You guys have any idea/comparison with other's stock stereos?
Thanks!

Really? I drive the 250 and 350 trim level all the time and I do admit its a good system but does not even come close to the ELS. Have you heard an actual DVD Audio in this thing? Its unreal! I dont listen to radio so I cant compare the two. But I can say the ELS is one of the best factory systems I have heard and I drive a lot of new cars for work.

All I can think is that you've got your ZDX stereo set up all wrong. Try changing the bass, treble, and balance settings.
While the Mark Levinson system in my old Lexus GS was the best in-car stereo I've ever owned, the ZDX is a close second. There's no way a stock Lexus IS stereo should even come close.

ELS sound system is awsome. at least in my rdx, not sure if zdx is different? I also like acura's older bose system although it lacks base. The ELS is 450 watts i think, same as mark levinson. i personaly dislike ML highs (8khz+) and lows (100hz and below). ELS has great sound in the whole spectrum in my opnion. i will make a video of this soon to prove it hehe. the harmon kardon sound system from BMW is also same league as panasonic's ELS in acura and better than the ML from lexus.

^^ I got the Advance.
Well, I tried the settings and all... I guess for the radio, (in my ear) the IS has a better sound.
I know the DVD-A sounds awesome. So, I guess I'll just stick with those and the digital songs in USB.
Thanks, Y'all!

I have had ELS for almost 5 years now of the 10 speaker variation (RDXtech/ZDXtech) and for some kooky reason the ELS sytem cannot play am/fm radio with any kind of authority. I steped into my cousins FX with the BOSE system and on the radio he got much more volume vs. my ELS. Now if we played the same cd or digital media it was a lot closer, I guess ELS just cant play crap loud...?
