Ambient Lights

Good Day all, we are happy new owners of a 2012 Adv and found that one of the ambient lights underneath the rear interior door handle is out, anyone ever try to replace the bulb and if so, how did you do it? Thanks.

According to the shop manual, you have to remove the door panel. Looks like a lot of trouble to go through, especially if you don’t regularly carry rear passengers. Besides, I think only the Advance model has those lights, so they are likely not essential. The light source is an LED module component, so bound to be pricey. My 2012 Tech has lit lock buttons directly under the inner handle locations, which seem to serve as an adequate guide.

After a little more investigation, it seems that the light does indeed work, it just works when the car isn't running and the door is open. The other three ambient lights stay off as expected until the car is turned on. Weird.

Someone mismatched the connectors underneath the door cover when it was removed, they are same with the puddle light. Happened with me also
you'll have to remove the door cover and connect them properly

Thanks Sandro. How difficult is it to remove the door panel?
