TE37 Mag Blue 215/40/18x19.5

Super impulse buy due to the deal I got! Need to try and sell my Works ASAP now!

Still just dropped on H&R Springs with no fender work.

Just a teaser until I can try to take some pictures. I can't wait to see how they look on the car tomorrow morning!

Sorry it'll be on Google Drive again, but I'm posting from my phone.

Link should be updated with better pictures! Please let me know if there is a specific type of shot/angle I should take. Feedback would be great too!

Perfect!
That color is exactly what I would put on the blue ILX. I probably would have had my eye on RE30s in mag blue but that looks great.

I would imagine so. 18x9.5 is a pretty average spec now a days with the borderline stance crowd. 9.5 is considered a "full" size wheel by the guy who sold me my Works. He said that is why he was letting them go so cheap and why he had them for as long as he did, because most people want 9.5 minimum.

This is obviously in the crowd of people I talk to which are interested in stance over going fast. When I said Id build my wheels to 9.5 he said "put coils on first and we'll see if you can go to 10 or more." LOL

I'll be perfectly fine with 9.5 because as you can see it's damn near perfect. Some may still say it pokes too much but I say fuck that jive. This looks ideal.

Great wheel choice, great specs, great fitment. This is exactly what I call doing it right the first time.

OP can you get a shot from the rear for us.
Like a 100% rear shot so we can barely see the lip of the wheel poking from the tires/fender. Just want to see how the stance looks.

My goal is so when you are standing in front or behind the car completely you can just barely see the lip of the wheels still. That is my perfect stance.

Look up vr wheels on instagram or just Google.
Theyre warehouse is in the valley and they have an unreal amount of wheels to choose from. I bought mine private party but he had them imported by vr.

I will be returning to vr when I need new barrel to go wider as they also custom fab their own forged barrels to rebuild any multipiece wheel.

Yeah I never see anything right offset on VR for my wagon. Let me know when you go.

I got my SSR Viennas from them, years ago for my Lexus.

Thanks guys!

Got it used on CL for 1600 with the tires being pretty close to new. Figured it was a great deal for legit 18" TE37S so I jumped asap and stayed up till like 2 AM on my bday to meet the guy and mount them haha!

John, I'll try to see if I can get that picture for you tomorrow. Has a little too much negative camber, but I still dig it! After fitting 17x9s I really didn't think 18x9.5 would fit, but there's absolutely no rubbing with this set up.

Offset is +30 if I recall Btw.

I updated the drive with a few more pictures. I'm not sure if it's what you wanted, but Lmk!

And to the previous poster, yes it's a square set. Dude was planning on putting it on an R32 Skyline!

Also, anyone know how I can post these pics on the thread from my phone?

I bought these Works extended lug nuts for my last wheels, but never got around to installing them. Would it be wrong to use them with the Volk TE37s? Lol

By the way do you know the offset of your wheels? As well did you follow up with an alignment after install? I keep being told I am going to have to run negative camber for 9.5s from dealers.

You will most likely have to run negative camber on any offset with 9.5 wheels. 9.5 like a good 2 inches or more larger than stock.

I suggest an offset around 30 or less to make sure they won't hit the suspension. I know my buddy Danny hit the suspension on his ilx running 9.5 40 or 45. He ran some small spacers to clear the struts.

One user ran 9.5 +25ish and fit fine just had to roll the fenders a bit. I think he just left the tires do that according to hairymonkey.

Hey buddy great wheels. Your shots are inspiring me to try 18x9.5+45 on 245/35/18 tires. I'll be dropped on Eibach Pro springs. Do you think this spec will clear the suspension and not poke out too much?

Now that's getting aggressive...and I like it. But no way that works without some serious spacers. Gotta reduce that offset down to like 20-25. With the set-up you mentioned you will get 35MM less clearance on inside.

Put it this way - to achieve the same clearance as stock, the offset on a 9.5" wheel would need to be 10

OSU, thanks buddy, I'm a bit timid to run spacers and start pulling fenders. That leaves me with 2 options, 18x9 +35 or 18x8.5+22 with 225/40/18 tires. The face of the 9.5 looks a little more concave but in this case, I'll be glad to settle for less hassle. Which of the two would you suggest?

There's also 17" that I thought about, but the size overall is just too small for the ILX. Weird though, considering it's a compact car kind of, lol.

You know you might be OK with the 9" with +35 offset who knows. Need to know what FL ABS offsets are. Remember Chinoxii is running 10" in the rear with +30 offset and he says he doesn't rub unless he's rolling with 4 people. BUT he's only got a 215 tire. And what I do know is 225 tire with a 9.5" +35 is nearly identical in terms of inside clearance with a 10" +30 set up. So I say go for it

FL stated in an earlier post that he believes the offset to be +30 on his TE's. I'll do a little more research before ordering, but I'm about 96% sure I'll go with the 18*9's +35 offset.

hmmhmhmh, still deciding on wheel setup. I'm waiting on a reply from the vendor regarding 18x9.5+35 and how the face looks. If it checks out, that means the 9.5's will stick out 6mm more towards the strut/fender compared to the 18x9+35. I might take a gamble and hope this works.

OSU, what tire would you suggest with the 9.5's? With just a slight drop on the Eibachs and no rolled fenders, can I get away with a wider tire like 245? Or am I stuck with something smaller and a stretched look?

Thanks!

Just a quick update. Acura got me with thier "pull ahead program" and got me started on a new lease 4 months early. They took care of my last 3 payments but completely failed to tell me I would have to take care of the 4th on my own. Pretty disappointed with my dealer, but it is what it is.

Ended up with a 2016 A Spec in Cyrstal black pearl because I'm not a big fan of the new blue. (I wish they kept the fathom blue).

Threw the TE37s on and the same H&R springs fit, but it seems to be a whole lot lower from what I noticed so far. Might just be the new bumpers and side underbody spoilers though.

Im not very good at taking pictures and the car was super dirty but here it is right after the install.

Loved my LE37's on my 2G TL-S before too. These are so really nice wheels - strong, light, with a timeless design!

Thanks! I kinda want to get new wheels but not until I sell these. At the same time, I really don't want to sell these haha!

By the way are these 9.5" wide (the thread title says 19.5" which can't be true...lol)? I'm surprised they would fit without rubbing. That concave looks is nice. Mine was only 7.5" wide so no concave.....

But yea, these look great...high quality...it will be difficult to find something that are as rigid, light weight, and clean looking.

Lol shit, this thread is more than a year old and no one else caught that! Haha!

Yes they're 18x9.5 and I'm sure the only reason they don't rub at all is because of how stretched the tires are. 215 was the stock on my 2014 and 225 on the 2016 aspec.
