Quiet Tires ILX

I’ve been told Michelin is the way to go—but which model is best for lessening road noise on an ILX? Or another brand? My tires are original to my 2015 ILX (I believe) and I hear every thing on the road. Suggestions?

I put Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tires on both my TL and my wife's former GTI, they are the quietest tires I've ever had on a car (and I've had a lot of Michelin tires in the mix).

FWIW: I am definitely a fan of Michelin tires. However, in November 2017, I installed a set of Michelin Energy Saver A/S 215/50R17 H rated tires on my 03 TLS. Two things I don't like: # 1. These are absolutely the noisiest tires I have ever owned. If you didn't know better, you might think you had a failing wheel bearing, they are that loud! # 2. The inside of these tires, along the tread area, are coated with a very sticky glue type substance, which is meant to seal minor punctures. I hate that feature! If I have a nail in a tire, I would much prefer to know, via air loss, so I could repair the tire, rather than to continue driving the car with a nail or screw lodged in the tire!

I went with these from Sam's. They are pretty quiet - as much or more than the Michelin's. Plus they were much less expensive.

I can also vouch for the Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S.. Very quiet, smooth riding tire with good wet and dry traction... I recommended them to a friend of mine and he has put them on his car and has been happy with them.. Another friend just put a set on his wife's Toyota last month and has been very happy with the ride over the OEM Firestones that came with her car. Although the car only has 6K miles on it he couldn't take the ride and noise with the Firestones..

Which Dunlops? Just because a tire says Dunlop on the side does not in any way mean they are going to be loud tires.

Dunlop graspix ds3 And Dunlop winter Maxx 2 were both excessively loud made me think I had bad wheel bearings.

Again tho, performance was GREAT.

Price point was competitive
