New to the site and just got a premium package ILX
Hey guys Im new to his site but I go on my8thgen.com form alot. I currently drive 2012 Accord coupe V6 and hope to be in the acura line soon. I just got my girl the ILX premium and Im really happy with the car (the only thing that bothers me is the DRL's and the road noise) but other than that the car is beautiful and she fell in love from the frist time she saw it at the dealer. I hope to be talking to you guys and getting some great info.
Thank you
Eric.

Welcome Eric! DRLs can be turned off (remove fuse 21 apparently) or you can replace with LED.. That will lose your effective hi-beams though..

Don't you get a light on the dash if you do that?

Wasn't mentioned by the other owners who did it. Personally, I like the DRLs for saftey reasons.
*Robotrexl(sp?) did it and said no issues for over 2 months. I would say you're good-to-go

We really don't need the DRL's here in Miami, but the car looks great with just the amber lights on. I tried the yellow high beam bulbs on my accord and really did like the color the DRL's give off. But post up pics of your car with the bulbs on to see how they look.
Good luck and hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you join the family. Post some pictures of your ILX when you get the chance. There's no warning light after removing the DRL fuse. I've been DRL-less for several months now (and still have functional high beams).
Congrats on the purchase!

I have a question? I was looking on getting a rear spoiler for the car and I dont really like the one they sell for the ILX at the dealer, but I like the one off the hibrid. What do you guys think and does anyone know where I can find it? Im a fan of the body lip just like on my accord V6.
Thanks.
Thanks.

yea, there's a thread on it. search hybrid spoiler ilx and you'll find it.

I am very familiar installing HID but my main concern is removing the bumper. Car is new and I dont want to mess with bumper alignment and stuff like that. Is removing the bumper necessary? Where did you mount the ballast?
#26
you'll need to remove the bumper to find a mounting point for the ballast. Their are instructions for changing the bulbs (very easy job) in the owner's manual
