I agree. I think the silver and bronze ones look nice but I hardly ever see them. That's my plan to get some silver, hyper silver or matte graphite wheels. Also looking at forgestar f14 and a couple of VMR wheels

Alright so time to wake this thread up a little. Got my Takeda SRI/Cold-Air Intake installed, and i love it. Gives it a growl that i felt was missing. Kinda makes me wonder if the K&N is any louder but i oh well. Next on the list is a Megan Downpipe.
Excuse the filth, definitely gotta clean it up

Don't usually like stickers on my vehicles but i put this on thinking i would take it off but i actually like it and may leave it there.

Also got some Morimoto 3000K hid fogs which I've had installed for a while now, i'll take pics of them later. If you do get 3000k fogs from TheRetroFitSource.com then be aware there's a long break in period for the lights to actually match.

I've mostly been posting to IG but was bored and figured someone may want to see progress pics so here we go.
Installed D2 Racing RS Coilovers this weekend.

Results right after, uneven drop, but i figured there'd be trial and error. Front was wayyy lower than rear and the front left was 1/2" different from front right.

Posted at work.

Made adjustments today but no pics. Basically evened out the front but i miss the lower look so im going to make adjustments one more time and lower the front a tad along with the rear.

Wheels maybe coming soon, maybe just stick with stockies unless i find a great deal locally on some good wheels.

"It looks different"

Couple more pics, been getting a lot more looks from Honda and Acura owners. One middle-aged dude in a Acura TL asked "What year is that?" He said "It looks different" not sure if it was a compliment or not but I sure as hell took it as a compliment. The drop on it now is more even and very functional. Maybe TOO functional, may need to lower some more.

After a quick wash

Looks perfect to me at that height. Some new wheels 18in would eliminate more wheel to fender gap.
Personally I'd prefer my own car to have the wheels more centered in the wheels than looking dumped.
Why am I getting so conservative?

Two top wheels on my list if money were no object would be either Work VSXX or Cr Kai Ultimates. 18x9 or 18x9.5. 20-40 offset

The Headlights are 6000k
The Fog Lights are 6000k HIDs.
I also changed my Highbeams/DRLs to 7000k
, which changed the bulb color to blue which is why the inside looks blue.
Also, if you're planning to do both 6k, keep in mind that since the headlights are projectors it will be a little off colored in comparison to the fogs.

Im looking to drop some 6k bulbs as well for the headlights. Was it hard to swap? Did you have to remove the bumper?

I changed my bulbs without removing the bumper. Simple as long as you know how the bulbs are held in by the clip in the headlight and if you have fairly small hands.

You get what you pay for. I payed about $160 for my foglights and about $60 for just my headlight bulbs. No issues with either one. Fogs are just plug and play hid kits. Only issues was the yellow fogs didn't match at first, they had a long break in period but other than that not one issue. They also come with 5 year warranty I believe. Over a year almost

Theretrofitsource is the site I used

well...i took a quick peak under the hood after removing the front cover. didnt have much room to play with so i attempted to remove the parts i needed to first. i should've taken pics...DAMMIT.

passenger side: removed the top half of the washer fluid reservoir (pull out), then that made just enough room for me to stick my hand inside and removed headlight cover.

driver side: (PITA: pain in the ass) removed the intake duct cover and had to push aside the lower intake tube so my other hand could move around. i got lucky with this side. the bulb dropped in perfectly the first go.

Here is the result: (may not be able to tell too much since i did this like 30 mins ago), but can see the color difference.

Bulbs cost: $11.99 + free 2day shipping cuz im a amazon prime member. a few friends told me that had good success from amazon with their bulbs, so i gave it a shot.

Wheels are in, test fitment shows it hits the front coilover so I'm waiting on spacers to come in. Probably coulda gotten a wider tire, coulda gotten a lower offset wheel, blah blah blah. Oh well, trial & error. Gonna need more low when wheels are actually on.

I think aomech is asking for the specs so he knows what will turn thossignal results.
18x9.5 +40 honestly I think you're at a great spot. Looks like 10 mm spacers would do the trick great and fit good. You can match 10 in the rear and it'll look great. As I said on instagram I'd go 15th rear.

Can't wait to see things where you want it!!

I think you misunderstood me, I'm not asking for advice. I'm just showcasing what I've done. Which, in my opinion, is one of the most important points of a forum. The way the car sits with the wheels is exactly what I expected with the offset I used (18x9.5 +40 I just realized I forgot to mention.) before the wheels even arrived i told people I was afraid of front clearance. But thank god for spacers. I'm only doing this to help others for future reference. If I could go back I'd probably run +27 offset but I'm happy with the way it sits. Once these tires wear maybe I'll get wider tires also. But I never asked for advice I know what I'm doing, the main reason I post on this forum is to be informative for others because a few ilx'so gave me an idea of what I wanted so now people can judge the stance and clearance on mine.

Yea I forgot I mention specs, I think he thought I was hiding it on purpose. Just a misunderstanding it's all good.

Edit:
Also tire is 215/40/18. Probably can fit 225 with a 9.5" wheel and around +30 offset by the looks of it

Mostly i was asking so we can understand what your goal is. I mean like flush /and or stanced/ cambered/ poke /no poke/ tucked.... basically, if you don't give sizes and better descriptions, we have a very vague idea of whats going.... Example - you described possibly having gotten wider wheels? For what purpose/look? not judging, just legit asking. Also if you are already touching coils right now, how exactly is a wider wheel helping that? Seriously asking. I don't understand.... Im not trying to start an argument, I'm trying to understand whats going on in your build.

Also trying to learn more about wheel fitment... I was under the impression that 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear is the biggest we could go without rubbing on most spring drops (and without rolling fenders). That would have tiny tire tuck at most, but probably just no gap. I didn't even mention tires and /or stretched tires..... Anyway, we also need to know your approximate drop to learn what clears at that height, etc. The setup you have is the first I've seen like that. Coils, with a 9.5 front wheel (widest front i've hear of) AND you are going to run spacers? That literally shows me that what I thought was the limit is probably wrong. So yeah thats why i'm asking. Yeah sorry I wrote a book haha

You should've said that or asked, because in your first posts you did not ask a single question, seemed like you were trying to start an argument. But my bad I did leave out specs by accident, I am not trying to hide it like some do. If you ask I'll answer.

And to answer your questions I just want a semi aggressive setup slightly tucked not too much poke or camber. Hence why I went with a higher offset. I suspected rubbing with the inner wheel on the front but I wanted to see what the limit was so I just said to myself, I'll get spacers if I need to. But yea 18x9.5 fits great as you can see, just make sure the offset is +30 or below. And with a good drop it's pretty flush

And I said wider tire not wheel/rim. Just the edge of the rim hits the strut so I'm saying I think once I get spacers I wouldn't require such a stretched tire (215/40). Quite a few users either here or on Instagram are running 18x9.5 +23 or a little lower all around. Just requires coils and camber

I'm dropped on d2 racing coilovers. Probably 1.5-1.8" drop. Gonna go lower once wheels are on.
If I left something out or anyone has questions please ask! Measurements, specs, whatever I'll check for you just ask me.

If I remember correctly we have two other ILX owners on 9.5in wide wheels. Aaron and Sadaat. Also I believe pockets is pretty wide just not sure exact width.

I'll just be at 8 for a while. Im happy with that and if anything only want to go to 9. 9.5 looks great, we just dont need it with the power we make or even could make. 9 is probably still overkill.

Car looks titties dude. Can't wait to see more!

Pockets is running 9.5 +40 in the rear i believe is what he said, then you have another on Instagram with xxr's 18x9.5 +20 all around

9.5" is pretty wide but I did it for aesthetics, wanted the wheels to be concave. Concavity on wheels is sooo important in my opinion. Plus these Enkei's are pretty damn light so I'm not worried.

Right now when I checked #ilxclub there was some girl with stance wheels, she claims 19x10 front and 19x10.5 rear.... I'm not sue thats correct, the wheels seem flush and not poking at all, pretty sure that they would if they were that wide?

Yea Aaron's SSR's are 9.5".
Yea i remember that one with Stance SC-5 wheels, I HIGHLY doubt they're 10" wide that would have a more concave face and poke out. At most they're 9.5" probably staggered with 8.5" in the front.

White Angel is running 10in mesh design reps. They poke like mad, but not in the picture I posted. Not sure about anyone running 10.5 but hes got 10 for sure. Running STR or some brand wheel. +25 offset.

I believe Aaron has/had some rubbing issues, but he went very low on coils. He ended up rolling fenders I believe. So what do you guys on springs (my future setup) think is probably the widest we could go without rubbing? Front and rear? I want to tuck and flush without rubbing, and preferably not have to roll fenders. I want 19's - 9 front 9.5 rear maybe? I also ask because VR Wheels many times has staggered sets, so i kinda want to know what i should be looking at size wise... On Tire Rack and a couple other websites they only showed me wheels up to 19x8.5, but I'm pretty sure they are just playing it safe for the average consumer.

I just saw the 10" wheels you are talking about, looks good to me. Definitely poking. At least in those pics. Hmm. I guess if anything I could play it safe and just get spacers to flush out the wheels... It's not on my immediate list of mods, too many nice wheels, and plus I'll just let everyone else figure out fitment for me....

I say if you're going 19's and are on springs then 8.5-9.0" wide and offset would depend on what size tire you get. Something around +30 wouldn't poke I don't think.

Yea I think Aaron has had some rubbing issues, which is why I went with a higher offset. I want my ride height to be a tad bit higher than his ilx

Mostly all Acura/Honda wheels are manufactured by Enkei. I believe since the early 90's.

Saadat's ILX is on 19in wheels with 245/35 tire. They are 9.5 in the rear 8.5 up front. Posting the only pic i could find online of his car in the lounge now.
