ILX vs TSX handling

I love the design of the ILX. It is my favorite design of the new vehicles other than the NSX of course. I definitely like it more than the TLX. It is disappointing though because the TLX gets much more horsepower. But at what cost? That thing with AWD weighs a ton!!

So I have a TSX and it handles wonderfully. That is the whole reason I ended up buying it ( and the design of course ) but I read that the ILX does not compared to the TSX in handling. I read on several different reviews that the handling is very disappointing.

Would there be a way to fix that by adding different suspension or something? I am just brainstorming here because damn that ILX looks awesome!

Who all owns and ILX in here and how do you feel about your car?

2012 TSX Wagon here. One time when I brought it in for service, I got an ILX loaner. It was a first gen base model, and with only a couple of hundred miles on it, it was virtually new. I appreciated the chance to test drive it, and noticed right away the TSX had better handling. The TSX was better in almost every way except for modern tech. Of course the ILX has improved since then, the most notable change was the bump in horse power.

I would imagine owners of the new ILX are happy. The TLX does come in FWD with a 4 cylinder which reportedly comes alive if you replace the OEM Goodyear tires with something from Continental or Michelin.

In the meantime, I am keeping my TSX Wagon.

SH-AWD + heavy car + decent tires = infinite traction

Yes, I was surprised an MDX was able to follow me -- light Mazda3, manual -- down a curvy road. Granted, he drove like he knew the road well, but it was like watching an elephant dance.

Same thing applies to the RL.

I rarely see those RL's but did see one the other day. The design was just kinda plain tho.

The ILX has such a great design. Why can't they equip some with V6 and/or SHAWD, though?

It's *kind of* a tuner car. A V6 would be unnecessary and not to mention probably it wouldn't fit anyways... An ILX will be a bit quicker than your TSX. It's lighter, has a tiny power bump and has a 8 speed DCT to help things out a lot.

Also, SH-AWD may impact TLX AWD sales, thus cannibalizing TLX sales to the ILX for a lower profit...

didn’t think of that! No wonder they do things like that.

I have RL as well as RDX (both with SH-AWD) and they both so sure-footed around corners, compared to my ILX.
