DIY oil change- Which oil do you guys use?

I logged about 25,000 km (16,000 miles) on ILX so far, and third oil change is about to come up soon. For the first time, I'm planning to do oil change by myself (Mainly because of ridiculous Type A or B price at the dealer & I would like to do tire rotation at the same time).

I'm planning to use Honda oil filter, but as for oil, I'm looking at non-Honda brand. What brand of 0w-20 oil do you guys recommend?

any brand, your ILX doesnt know the difference.

modern day oil has come a long way.
the chemistry or makeup of regular conventional oil has improved tremendously, and you can see 5-6k mile intervals.

Mobil 1 synthetic oil and the Mobil 1 synthetic oil filter or Fram synthetic oil filter.
Second choice is Castrol GTX oil.

I just did my first oil change last weekend. I used a Honda filter and Valvoline Syn 0w20. I have about 5,800 miles on it so far so good.

Geez, yet another oil discussion (albeit resurrected from the dead pool from five years ago)...

Folks, my standard rejoinder to this type of discussion is, "Oil is like religion, use whichever brand you worship, it won't make a tinker's damn bit of difference in the life of your engine. Simply use the correct grade, change it per the manufacturer's recommendation, and the engine will last the life of the car, and then some."
