Dangers of driving in Sport/Shift mode?

Good afternoon, all.
Disclaimer: I don't know much about cars. I like changing up the look of them, but don't know much about engines.
I also tried searching and there was 10000000 results.

I have a 2014 ILX 2.0.
I'm curious if driving the car continuously in the S mode harms the engine, transmission, etc in any way?
I understand it drains gas faster, which makes sense, but am curious if there is anything else I should know.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if continuously driving in s mode would do any damage to the engine or the transmission. I guess you could mess something up if you shifted all crazy letting the engine rev too high for too long. But I'm not an expert. I drive in s mode once in a while (when I'm feeling like pushing the car harder than the auto transmission does). One question, if you drive in s mode all the time why didn't you just get the 2.4 manual?

Thanks man, fair question, I don't drive in it all the time, but when i do, I definitely like the feel of the car more. its fun.
I definitely do not rev the hell or redline it. regarding the manual, never drove a manual in my life and didnt feel like starting lol

No.

It's still an automatic at the end of the day, there are computer safeguards that prevent you from doing too much damage.

you can leave it in S mode and rev all you want!!! the only thing that it will hurt is your wallet, as spending time in vtec will lead to poor fuel mileage.
