All Season Floor Mats

Quick question, guys:

Are the all-season floor mats both designed for the Hybrid and regular models, or do they each have different specs?

I say that largely because there is a difference between the trunk mat, where the hybrid's expectedly slimmer.

Interior mats should be identical. Not sure on the trunk mat, but that doesn't come as part of the interior ones. It's ordered separately.

hey If I was you I'd check out the weathertech ones. They cover more surface area, are made of a sturdier thicker material, and price was about the same (shop around). I have the OEM trunk liner and I was pretty surprised how thin it was. I purchased with a discount from the dealer, and it gets the job done, but when my floor mats wear out, I'm going weathertech. Also to the actual point of your question, I believe the only difference is between the 2.4l and the others. Basically stick shift vs. auto floor mats. Make sure you specify your model to who ever you go with.

The hybrid mats have the hybrid logo on it. So its different that the non-hybrid one I bet.

+1. I have the OEM interior and trunk mats, as well, and I'm rather dismayed by how flimsy they are. Like you say, they get the job done, but WT mats are far sturdier and would likely last the life of the car; I don't think the OEM mats would.

Also, and this a VERY minor point, but I don't care for the white "ILX" emblems on the front mats. It looks grungy even when clean, and since I debadged my trunklid I rather like not having any model designation anywhere on the car.

OEM is the only way to go for me in a decision like this.

...Why, Jon? For some things, absolutely, but these are only floor mats.

We aren't talking about one-size-fits-all Pep Boys specials. Most large aftermarket suppliers like WeatherTech receive specs and dimensions directly from the manufacturer, so the WT mats should fit at least as well as the factory-branded mats. (As I'm sure you know, even the OEM mats are supplied by a third party vendor.)

Material quality will also be equal, if not better/thicker with WT than the OEM products. Either brand adds the same amount of (ultimately negligible) value to the vehicle... so as long as the price is reasonable, why not get the WT mats?

Just how I mode.
I have no issues with aftermarket parts.

Something simple like a floor mat I'd prefer it be an oem Honda part... like window visors. Sure visors are visors but when a car is sitting there with oem pieces it's just more authentic. Oem is often harder to find than aftermarket alternatives.
This is more true in a 1994 integra than our ilx but my preference still remains.

Hope that made sense.

I tend to buy the OEM stuff where I can because if I go to trade the car in then I can argue with the sales manager.

Don't want to give me extra value to the trade in of the vehicle for having OEM Accessory floor mats, then why is it included in the invoice price of the car I am buying?

Yep, it does make sense, and you and Switt23 both make some very good points.

I too liked Switts floor mat comment. Id love to see the salesmans face after that one. haha

I do see why someone would want an aftermarket piece if they deem it to be of better quality for a similar piece. You are for sure paying for the ILX and OEM HONDA stigmas that come with the oem parts. Many people will pay more for a piece stamped OEM HONDA.
When building a 3rd gen integra or civic, authentic parts can make or break the car.

But when OEM isnt a huge interest of yours, and functionality is, than aftermarket is perfectly fine.

Got the WeatherTech mats, installed then yesterday.
I went with OEM mats on my '13 RDX and found them not be the same as my Honda OEM mats for my previous '03 Accord which were thick rubber; these were thinner and more plasticky.
For the ILX I saw the OEM mats didn't have any meaningful side walls, so I took the jump to WT.

The WT mats cover a larger area and have high 2" side walls. Overall shape fits extremely well, every bump, cutout and curve. No gaps, no buldges and even the twist lock clips work perfectly.
Material is medium thickness and not as thick or rubbery as my old Accord's OEM mats. The rear mat is one large piece covering the center hump.
Overall 4.5 stars and I'm very satisfied.

the problem with the ILX oem ones is the lack of side walls.

the mats are thick and good, but the lack of side walls results in some salt on the carpets which i will need to clean off this spring
