2016 ILX: I predict it'll be a hit

I actually am surprised. This is a dealer that I have worked with since 1988 and where I have done all of my business with. They know that I informed on the product. The fact that they fail to acknowledge that at least some people are having some issues with both transmissions is very disappointing. I would prefer an "we are aware of the issues and are working hard to produce the quality product that you expect from Acura"!
Weather....I will read your reviews with great interest. ILX is looking appealing if the DCT issues are resolved.

Now if you actually owned one of the affected vehicles and were having problems with your tranny, I would think they would probably tell you more about the vehicle, but as someone just looking/doing research/potential buyer, I am not surprised they are not telling you anything about supposed "problems".

My local Acura dealer in Louisville still doesn't have a single 2016 in stock....
PS Quick question. As a long time Honda owner it's been convenient to be able to get service in almost any city of significant size in the US. Acura dealers, obviously, are comparatively rare. But I assume that for some things you could just go to a Honda dealer?

^ I would assume to an extent that would be do-able.
Here in Houston, we're starting to get the opposite with Acura dealers advertising that they'll work on Hondas as well.

^^ Generally, if the work to be performed is 'Customer Pay', you can go anywhere including Honda dealers. Warranty work is different.

Nice pix! Thanks. I like the look of the 2016 ILX in white. Good comparison with the first gen TSX.
I guess I'm the only one who kinda likes the wheels? I don't love em, and I like the base TLX wheels more, but they seem nice enough to me. Of course, my ride right now, which is a 2008 Accord EXL, has some rather unusual looking wheels imho. I've like em ok but I've never completely warmed up to them.

The first generation TSX was almost 4 inches longer than the ILX but despite that, it always looked skinny and tall to me.

Would anyone who owns a 2016 ILX give us a report?

... and Japan. Of course they were also going for good headroom and this made the roofline 'tallish' and contributed to the overall proportions. It's possible that if the donor car didn't need to be a workhorse in the lineup, they could have made different styling choices.

Drove a 2016 ILX this past wkend.
Was passing by the Acura dealer on the way somewhere and thought I'd stop in and look at the car. Naturally, they offered me a test drive. I drove a Premium, not A-Spec, around the block a couple of times.
I've been driving stick exclusively for 25 years and may be reluctant to give it up when my 2013 ILX lease is up in a little over a year. But the DCT shifts were noticeably smooth compared to other automatics I've driven. Engine felt good, very similar to my 2.4; had the windows open so didn't assess sound deadening. The cockpit is nice, very similar to what I have now, and it's clear the infotainment controls and screens will be a learning curve. Pretty nice car overall, definitely on the list if I don't buy my current car next year.
But, man oh man, I hate those wheels....
