Did a 360 on the hwy today, new tires - where to start troulbeshooting

Today on the highway, it had rained recently and I was merging onto an onramp which required a sharp turn. I normally make this turn at my speed (60-70) easy but today I felt my front tires (extreme contact my ass) lose grip and the rears did nothing to get bite resulting in a 360 whereby I barely missed the barrier. I escaped with no damage and came home to check my lugs and tire pressure. Front driver 31 psi, passenger 34 psi, Rear driver 31 psi, passenger 22 psi (don't know how). When I recently got my 2 new front fires installed at sears (I had a coupon making it worth the risk) they told me I needed front upper control arms. Bought moog control arms and had my local shop do it for a cheaper price than sears. Today was my first real stress test during inclement weather and although it wasn't even raining -- my car failed and I'm lucky to have gotten out with no damage to the car, just my ego. Lugs were tight, mismatching psis, different front & back tires. What would you do in this situation? I was just bragging to my friend how my extreme contact tires stop me from spinning wheels they're so good, am I eating my words? I also notice a little bit of the new front tires stick out over the rim. Pic attached - the other cars in my driveway are not like this at all.

Front newContinental ExtremeContact™ DWS06 - 215/50ZR17 - All-Season 95w

Rear 5k miles on them - Cooper CS3 touring 2 95v

I also tested my newly found drifting ability on a second ramp exiting towards my home going 35 - I still lost control (drifted) but expected it to happen so quickly regained control.

any time you mess with the suspension geometry, you need an alignment.
you had suspension work done...you had control arms put in and you need to get it aligned.

I did plan on getting an alignment and I didn't even think about that! I bet my suspension is off for sure but would that really cause sliding? My straight tire grip is amazing - can't even spin wheels with these extreme contacts (03 type s av6) - but I've learned by acceleration on turns is not stable.

that's because your alignment is off.
Get it aligned, ASAP!

Yeah exactly what justnspace says, get an alignment done and make sure all the tires are at the proper rated psi. I had an understeer scare myself on my OEM 16" rims with Pirelli P7 tires and when I upgraded the wheels and tires the car has much more confidence during hard corners.

If you're looking to change your tires take a look of the review I made of the Cooper RS3-G1 Tires I got for my TL, these things are awesome for the price: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-t...review-969307/

IMO: A faulty alignment, coupled with the rear passenger tire being 10 lbs. low, could make for some interesting handling characteristics!
