Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires
Get them, you'll love them. Quiet, great handling, great gas mileage, not expensive (~$550 shipped from TR).

Make it so
Legit, I just came here to find posts about this specific tire since my Continental are needing replacement. And I happened to see these so highly rated and the price was killer even without the free shipping promotion Tire Rack has going on right now.
I've never used Grand Touring tires so it's uncharted territory for me. From what I read you're basically trading the performance characteristics (specifically grip and turning of tires like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS (which is what I've always used) for less road noise, better ride comfort and the like. But I'm no maniac that needs anything special during my daily commute so the DWS seems like overkill now in hindsight.
What has your experience been switching to the Vredesteins? Is there anything you miss?

Don't miss anything. These tires are quite simply the best riding tires I've ever had on this car....

4K miles on the tires. Still undoubtedly the smoothest riding tires I've ever had on this car...

I was just looking at this tire yesterday. Please report back after some more usage? However, I see that the tread rating is 400. I have Pirelli Cinturato P7 right now with 700 tread rating and they have been great.

9.0 Treadware rating on Tirerack.com.....Reviews are great. Only 4.7K miles so far, so I can't give a tread wear review just yet. Tires look brand new though...

Tread rating is only comparable within a tire manufacturer and their line of tires. It may give you some indication across brands, but it isn't an easy comparison.

I have 1/3 of tread left on the Pirelli Cinturato, approaching 60k miles. I drove in the snow with these also without major issues.
Let us know if this tire does that.

It's really N/A for me, but the snow performance reviews are excellent!! I haven't driven these snow, nor do I plan to. I have dedicated winter tires/wheels.

Bought these for the GF's 2014 Honda Accord. I am amazed at how well they turn in. I haven't pushed the car too hard, but the increase in steering precision is notable. Will put them on the new TL.

I looked at the Vredestein Quatrac 5s last spring when I bought my Pirelli Cinturato P7s (also an extremely smooth riding and quite tire) and opted to spend the extra thirty or so dollars per tire for one with a much higher treadwear rating (700 vs. 400). That and I've had the P7s on two other cars and they stay quiet for tens of thousands of miles. I fully expect to get 60,000+ miles out of this set.

Once again, you can't make any comparison between tire manufacturers on tread wear ratings.....

While the individual manufacturers do assign their own wear ratings, there is a basic formula they all follow; yes, there may be a varying degree of wiggle room between how two individual manufacturers apply the rule, but the odds on bet a Pirelli 700 will last longer than a Vredestine 400. Given I've already had two sets of P7s before, experience shows 60,000 miles is easy for those tires; do you expect that kind of mileage out of the Vredestines?

No, using your wisdom of Tread Wear ratings, I'd expect to get 34286 miles from them
