Rubbing noise from new axle

Replaced passenger front axle now there is a rubbing noise like my brakes are rubbing rotor. Took tire off and rotated rotor by hand sounded like it was comming from the back of hub where the thin metal shield on the axle is. Is this normal and if not what could be wrong?

Also my wife drove the car while i was at work and said that tire felt alittle warmer then the others

It was an axle from oriely but it was the dust shield rubbing the rotor that was making the noise. I feel dumb for not just checking that in the first place.
