It took me three months to research and find wheels I like with the stance I wanted that clears brembos. They are very hard to figure out. But most wheels with +35 and higher will not clear. It's all about the design of the wheel. Oem wheels are very flat, most aftermarket is not

Transmission (Manual or Auto): 6MT
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 2007 TL Type-S (6MT)
Wheel Make/Model: Varrstoen ES2
Wheel Size (**x**): 19x9.5 Squared
Wheel Offset (+**): +35 Squared
Tire Size/Make (***/**/**): 235/35/19 Pirelly Pzero
If lowered (amount): Will be on coilovers. Looking for a 1/2-1 finger gap, and do not really want it slammed. I also don't mind rolling fenders.

I know the Varrstoens ES2s (in 19s) have been talked about extensively, but I haven't seen anyone running the ES2s in 19x9.5 +35 in the front. I've seen people run 19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +22 up front. I was wondering if the 19x9.5 +35 will be a good middle ground between flush fitment and concavity for up front. I already have the tires laying around so i'm pretty set on running a squared setup.

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Manual or Auto): 6 speed
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 2004 base
Wheel Make/Model: Enkei Rajin
Wheel Size (**X**): Front 19x8.5 / Rear 19x9.5
Wheel Offset (+**): +35
If lowered (amount): Stock height for now

Hey guys, I've posted before regarding the same make and model wheels but 19x8. This time I'm trying to see if 19x8.5 +35 will clear my brembos.

Here's the story...My girlfriend bought me the wheels a while back (19x8 +45) her intentions were good and the place she got them from the guy told her it'll fit my car but don't. I test fit one wheel and it just slightly rubs the caliper and I know I can solve that issue with a 5mm spacer (trying to avoid spacers). So, today I thought I'd call the place and ask if it's possible to exchange the 19x8s for 19x8.5/19x9.5 staggered if I can show proof of purchase but want to get some input from you guys who know a lot about wheel fitment on our cars first.

I don't want to roll the fenders at all and don't want to use any spacers unless I have no other option. Will the Raijin 19x8.5 +35 clear the brembos? (+35 is the lowest offset for 8.5 in 5x114.3 bolt pattern). I'm looking to get the wheel as flush, or as close to flush with the fender as possible. Will this front and rear setup do that (given the 19x8.5 +35 clears the caliper)? How will the 19x9.5 fit in the rear? (offset options for 9.5 are +15 or +35) Also looking for your input on tire sizes if the new wheel sizes I asked about are good to go.

The weather here in Canada is slowly getting better and time to take the winter wheels off is coming soon. I want to thank anyone with help and input in advanced.....

Call enkei and ask, when I researched wheels I found out that the 18" raijin wheel in the same specs DOES clear brembos. So you may be in luck with the 19s, but call and ask enkei, they are very helpful.

That's spec will be slightly sunken but not that bad. You'll be about 8-10mm sunken in from flush, but it will still look good

I would stay away from a staggered setup on a fwd car but up to you.

Sockr1 thanks for your help and advice, you've helped me with my last post and gave great advice this time. On a side note, I noticed in your sig you have TSW Nurburgrings. What's the specs on your wheels front/rear? Just wondering because those are almost identical to the Raijins

you're welcome. seems like you're after a similar looking wheel that i was going for, so here were my findings. i liked 3 wheels: tsw nurburging, enkei raijin, and vmr 710

- vmr 710: still one of my all time favorite wheels. at the time they couldn't confirm brembo clearance so i had to pass on them. turns out most of their 18x8.5 +35 wheels clear brembos. there is a really good thread on here showing all their wheels and if they clear or not. this will be my next wheel if i ever switch again

- enkei raijin: 18x8.5 +35 clears brembos. they are also very lightweight wheels which is what i was looking for. unfortunately the 8.5 +35 wheel has almost like a sticking out appearance even though it's flat. i wanted concave or flat, but this one seemed to stick out a little and i didn't like the look.

- tsw nurburgring: 18x9 +32 clears brembos and is very flush to the fender. i love how it looks! i wanted concave but this wheel great on me and now i absolutely love it. another buying reason was because it's extremely lightweight. my xxrs and the vmr 710 are around 22-24 pounds each wheel, and the tsw are like 18.5-19...big difference!

for my wheels i use 235/40/18 tires. if you run an 8.5 +35 wheel, you should get 245/40/18 tires

hope that helps!

Any particular reason you suggest to stay away from staggered? And you're positive the Raijin 18x8.5 +35 clears brembos?

Do you think I can run a 18x9.5 +35 squared setup without any kind of rubbing issues?

Thanks again.....any bit of info you provide helps tremendously

staggered will add more understeer to our cars. that being said, you probably wont' notice the difference unless you tracked your car or pushed it all the time. so nothing bad there if you want to, just personal preference
staggered will also limit how you rotate your tires, which means more money in the long run if they wear a certain way. again, nothing bad there just personal preference

i know raijin 18x8.5 +35 clears.

you should be fine with an 18x9.5 +35. you can probably run 235/40 tires for those too without rubbing. if you go this route, PLEASE update me and this thread, i'd love to see how that looks and what size tire you can go with. the 18x9.5 raijins have that concavity i want!

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Manual or Auto): 6 speed
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 2008 Type S
Wheel Make/Model: Miro 398/ Varrstoen ES2
Wheel Size (**X**): Front 18x9.5 / Rear 18x9.5
Wheel Offset (+**): +20
If lowered (amount): no finger gap (not tucked)

Here is the question guys, I've been trying to search and I see different responses, I read that 18x9.5 +20/22 offset is basically flush with the fender and that you can run a 235/40/18 with fender pulling and maybe get by with just rolling them. I also read a spacer of 5mm to 7mm maybe needed to clear the brembos. Trying to see if this is true, I would like to get the miro398/varrstoen es2 or something similar (TE37 rep) without having to run a massive spacer and having to pull fenders. Apologies if this has been covered a million times, I'm just trying to get CONCRETE info before I order the wheels.

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Manual or Auto): Auto
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 2007 TL Type S
Wheel Make/Model: Varrstoen ES1
Wheel Size (**X**): 19X8.5
Wheel Offset (+**): +35
If lowered (amount): Stock

I've been researching this since I registered back in 2015, but it got too confusing so I ended up lifting my truck instead and made it my DD. I miss driving my TL so I wanted to show it some more love. I saw Varrstoen's post on Instagram about their Black November sale and they had the style of wheels I wanted (ES1). I read a horror story about a guy on the G35 forums having the bolts on his Ichiba V2 spacer's break off while driving, so I want to avoid wheel spacers. I just wanted to confirm that the 19x8.5 +35 wheel will clear my Brembos. I already contacted Varrstoen, but the guy there keeps thinking I drive a Subie. He confirmed the wheels will clear the Brembos, and that he has the same wheels on his STi. I would like to get coilovers or springs for a mild drop depending on how the wheels look on the car. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The TL brembos are very different from the subie brakes. ours are hard to figure out clearance wise. sorry i can't help with the wheels specifically, only advice is to do lots and lots of research and asking. someone has those wheels out there, just gotta keep looking. good luck!

Accord Sport 19s

2007 Acura TL Type S.
auto trans
factory suspension.

purchased a set of accord sport 19s... the rear fit just fine.
But the fronts would not because of the Brembo calipers.
Anyone know what spacers? It any I would need to get?
Move searched all around the web and can’t find anyone with these wheels on a Type S TL.

Thanks

^^ put washers on the studs to ONLY see how many you need before you clear the calipers. then count how many washers you used and that's what size spacers you need (each washer is about 1mm if i remember correctly). anything more than 5-10mm and you should use the bolt on spacers for safety reasons. take washers off before driving! good luck!

ok I will try that... I’m ok with getting bolt on spacers if it’s be better. Any idea what brand or specs I should get?

ok update.... I purchased ichiba spacer 15mm and 20mm..
the 15mm did NOT clear the brembos (with the 19” Honda sport rims) But the 20mm was just perfect. I did not install the rears since I will have to return the 15mm spacers and order another set of 20mm for the rear... I did NOT drive the car with the rims on since it was merely a test fitting... what do you guys/gals think with putting 20mm spacers on the front?

Thanks.

I'm trying to be responsible and am posting in the "official" thread instead of starting my own lol.

Transmission (Manual or Auto): Auto
Year/Trim (04-08, Base or Type S): 2005 Acura TL Base
Wheel Make/Model: Hyundai 52910-2M120 (front), Hyundai 52910-2M130 (rear)
Wheel Size (**X**): 19X8.0 (Front), 19x8.5 (rear)
Wheel Offset (+**): +35
If lowered (amount): Stock (for now)

Tire size
Front: 225/40/19 (recommended by factory, but maybe 225/35/19 is better?)
Rear: 245/40/19 (recommended by factory, but maybe 235/35/19 is better?) - I don't want to rub.

I found a really nice set of black powder coated rims and am wondering if these will fit? As of now, I am on stock suspension, but plan to install coilovers (Maybe Tein SS) next spring, which will obviously avoid the 4x4 look. I know my coilover information is vague right now, but I won't be dropping much, won't be adjusting camber, and probably won't be installing spacers. My biggest concern is rubbing and I want to avoid rolling the rear fenders if possible, because I had some paint work done two years ago.

Hopefully that helps paint a picture for someone. Any feedback would be appreciated everyone. Thanks so much in advance.

Josh

Rfp1 fitment and questions

Hi everyone! So just to let anyone who is reading this know I am new to cars so some of my questions may be dumb, but im asking them because I honestly dont know and am here to learn.
I have a base 05 Tl AT, and I am purchasing 18x10.5 rfp1’s from a local TL S owner. Im gettin the set of wheels that are mounted with tires. I have to buy lug nuts for them, as i read the stock tl wherl lug nuts wont work with the RFp1’s. So what lug nuts are good to get. I read just “tuner” lug nuts will work, but i would like to also know if lug nuts have various sizes for various wheels? Finally, the wheel center bore (hope thats what its called) should fit fine on my car without any changes? Thanks for the help

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Auto):
2008 Acura TL Type S):
Wheel Make/Model: Volk Racing TE37-SL
Wheel Size (18 X 9.5):
Wheel Offset (+40):
If lowered (amount): Currently stock height, Coilovers will get installed after.

Questions on Tires
Tire Make/Model: Bridgestone Potenza
Width/Sidewall-Diameter Front+Rear (255/45-18)
Would I be able to run these wheels with clearing brembos? and would I have to roll/pull fenders? Thanks

That offset will not clear Brembo's. Same dimensions in +38 will also not clear Brembo's. +22 will clear Brembo's, but with that tire size you will have to roll/pull your fenders if youre trying to lower it.

What size tires should I run?

2008 Type-S
Wheel size: 18x9.5 +22 squared (yes they clear Brembos)
Tire sizes: 245/40 vs 255/40
Lowered Megan coilovers.
Goal: Meaty tire, little to no tire gap. Not trying to tuck tire.

What do you guys think? Thanks!

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Auto):
2008 Acura TL Type S):
Wheel Make/Model: Work ZR10
Wheel Size (18 X 9.5):
Wheel Offset (+22 or +30 or +38):
If lowered (amount): Currently stock height, Coilovers will get installed after to fill wheel gap
What offset would be ideal to avoid rolling & pulling fenders?
Tires: What size?

Does this size works?

I want to make sure these options actually work on my 2008 Acura TL type S.

I’m not sure what wheels I want yet but I will add pictures for the look i’m going for.

Would this fitment work:

245/35/19 x8.5 or 9, offset ranges from +25 to +35

or

255/35/19 x8.5 or 9, offset ranges from +25 to +35

I want my wheels to look more meaty but I also want to be able to rotate my tires when I go for oil changes. I want my car to still be comfortable with 4 people in it (rarely have that much people in) but I can also bring it to a backroad on a weekend and have fun. I usually do this for a getaway or to relax.

the suspension I have mind to use is tein flex Z. The look I’m looking for is to
be flush or have a finger gap, I can on rolling and pulling fenders if needed, which I’m pretty sure I will.

I don’t want my rims inside the wheel well.

thanks guys, much appreciated

see below for pics of looks I like.
