Burtch07's CGP Build

So after a long time I decided to do a build thread and share some progress. Any and all comments positive and negative are welcome.
So I got rid of my 08 Element SC to get into a TL due to a 3rd kid. So here's what I got so far:
Tein Basis Coilovers (front lowered about 2.5"/rear's maxed)
New front fascia
Yellow Fogs
20MM spacers all 4 corners, no rubbing but id like to go down to a 15MM in the front.
Rear roof spoiler
12" Punch sub w/ Kenwood amp
Plasti dipped the wheels black w/ glossifier
Plasti dipped front grille
OBX Catback Exhaust
Real near future:
Timing Belt/Water Pump w/ spark plugs.
Fixing the leather rip in the front passenger seat. As always maintenance before mods. Also need to badly replace the headlights. Going to search the pick a parts for some project lights. Plan on changing out all factory speakers as well as the interior lights. Will save up money and get some nice wheels....one day haha

OBX exhaust, really good exhaust for the budget. I find myself driving in Manual mode a lot more now.

Old fascia all torn up from road rash, I broke the long V piece and had to order a new one.

Brand new fascia color matched really well. Had a broken fog light so decided to go yellow fogs like I had in my Element

All ready to be hooked back up, I removedd the plastic piece underneath because I kept scraping on my driveway.

Sitting in the yard before a wash and compound polish.

The hood was in pretty bad shape but I did a compound to show glaze buffing, turned out nice.

The shine makes me really love the CGP

Really love the rear roof spoiler, would like to get the Type S turn signals eventually

Love this shot, need to go down to a 15MM though so I can drop it another 1/4 inch

Next up is that 105K maintenance period!! I want this TL to run so long I can hand it down to my son when he's able to drive. Maybe that's not a wise choice

Thanks for the love mang - appreciate it

yeah, i'm in the same boat, been on Azine since I got my TL (and before that I was active on 6thgenaccord.com) - so no stranger to the help that these forums can give. Especially good to know that there are people who have already gone through what you have, and if not, you know that you are helping others to overcome a challenge.

Keep it working man, and no, there is not issues with wanting to hand down the 3G to your son, although, not a first car

I sent the old oem passenger side fog to a azine member yesterday for shipping cost and he is going to hook me up with a few more LEDs for the vanity and trunk, love the pay it forward idea on the forum.

Thinking of getting the obx exhaust...did you have to get it welded or did it come as bolt on? The pics of it on ebay look like it needs to be welded...also is it loud?

It was all bolt on, i did it myself on jack stands. Had one bolt on old exhaust that needed to be cut off but other than that it wasn't bad. This is the first exhaust i've had on a car since the greddy i had on my 2006 Civic, that was extremely loud!! I have 3 kids now and didn't want that young kid style, IMO it has a nice rumble on start up and at lower rpm's but once you get past 3 rpm's it's pretty quite until shifting. i have noticed i like to use the auto manual a lot more now. if your on a family budget like i am and your income isn't the best (i'm AD air force) then i really think it's a good alternative from the more expensive systems....time will tell though.

So i busted out the good DSLR Cannon and snapped a few shots of the TL behind some old bldgs on base by my work. It was raining and i thought it would make for a cool effect.

Anyone can buy a TL and lower it and do shit to it...
but not everyone can be so fun and lighthearted with their documenting the journey, then take pictures and share their passion for the hobby of car modding. I can tell you truly enjoy it and aren't here for IG likes and people blowing you about how cool your car is. Modding on a budget, being creative and being an all around (seemingly) good guy goes a long way, to me. I love what you're doing and I'm sure I'll love what you do.

Kick ass...
no chance the headlights can't be sanded/professionally cleared? From my personal testing and experience...it's the only lasting solution to hazed headlights and makes them look new. Also, my personal opinion is raise the butt up slightly so it doesn't look reverse raked!

Either way, it...kick ass.

I love the rears cranked all the way down, the front had to be raised becuz it was eating my tire up from the 20MM spacers. I really don't want to roll the fenders to be honest. I have a set of 15MM spacers that will be here Monday. After I get them on in going to drop the front about another 1/2". I have sanding kit for the headlights but I baked em and painted them while doing so I broke the same piece on both sides. Would like to find a set and send them to AckTL or JnC for a custom job. I have to clay bar the trunk and rear quarter panels becuz I made E6 last year and my buddies wrote on my window and it rained which made the paint run onto the car. I really appreciate all the kudos!! Especially coming from the group that has commented!! I've stalked most of you and my jaw drops everytime I see the things you guys have done!! Thanks again all

you may not necessarily need to roll, but, running wider you will run into the "dreaded tab"...it's pretty much a point where the bumper meets the fender, close to the screw that holds the bumper on - i took a dremel to mine and grinded them down, you can also cut and hammer it down too - but that tab sliced up my tires...so if you start seeing the slicing on the outer tread, that tab will need to be looked at...

That is exactly what I have, big ole chunks of my tire just ripped off. When my wife gets back from work I'll bust out the dremel and get rid of em.

The bulbs for my yellow fogs wasn't bright enough for me. Did many a search hours and decided to go with Noyka Stage 1 yellows, really wanted 3K but I dot think much difference between that and 2500K.

I was combing thru my old photo's and I thought ya'll might like these. The TL is with A-Spec kit is my buddies. He's since sold it and gotten a Lexus, it was 6MT 2006 i believe.

The Element posted up on the Great Salt Lake

Love that water looks like a mirror

1 of the many modded stage of my Element next to my buddies NBP 6MT TL when i was stationed in Cali

The body lines on this car will never get old

very nicely done...
Element is the most comfortable ride I've ever taken a road trip in. Looked awesome.
Yeah, the tab is what's fucking you up. Put touch up paint on it when you're done.

I busted out the 2000 grit and wet sanded the headlights, followed it with 3M restore, then McGuiers compound. Came out good but I'm curious has to how long it will last?? Also clay barred the trunk that had some paint on it.

Both sides looked like this

Sanded down awaiting 3M

Terrible pic I know, forgot to take one in the daylight.

Yea I put many hours of love into that E, really miss it.....kinda like yer first love. The A spec kit is on the top of my list actually. I'd rather get it than a nice set of wheels for my next big purchase. I actually pondered the idea of getting the OEM wheels powder coated so I can stop plasti dipping them. They aren't that bad and I think they can suffice for a few years unless a killer deal comes my way.

Swapped out the 20MM spacers in the front to 15MM. Dropped the front a little less than 1/4", and I put the Noyka bulbs in as well. Dum me I forgot to shave the tire destroyer tab when I had the wheels off. Guess I got a weekend project huh

Also the more I see all the TL's with Aspec wheels the more I am leaning on making those my choice when I pull the trigger.

I lost my charger for the Cannon and after those pics of the headlight restore I refuse to use a cell phone for this build. I'll find it and do some night pics of the LED interior and the new yellows. I love yer TL by the way
