I am using the one from Endless. I've had it on for almost 2 years with no issues, and fitment was perfect and color match was spot on. I worry about the acrylic used on those HIC style ones, i've seen some of them sag/droop in the centers

Are these things just for looks, or do they serve some sort of purpose?

the endless rpm one is very similar if not the same as the one many of us buy on ebay from bmwoemshop. it's the most popular roof spoiler

there are a ton of pics in the forum with these spoilers

Voting HIC...it's sweeter in person, and matches (compliments) the oem visors as well.

The painted ones look goofy and cheap in my opinion.

HIC roof spoiler came in over the weekend. It's been good so far for 3 days now. Issues noticed so far:

1. Air drying in the drive-through car wash doesn't work on rear windshield (bring a cloth to get that water trapped under the spoiler).
2. HIC brand is stuck on there but I think it can come off with a heatgun/blow dryer (it's just a sticker).

Paint chipping... FML

As seen in this picture, it's slightly off but it was my mistake. Maybe I should've applied pressure in the middle during installation so that it can flex and align perfectly with the shape of the rear windshield. The edges line up but the middle where the arc lies isn't quite perfect. I don't really care though. Once weather gets warmer I'll fix it.

Looks good to me!

Endless or better yet the ATLP from HeelToe.

The HiC look cheap and flimsy.

I had purchased the HIC about a month back and I can't complain. They came out with a version 2 which took care of the sagging issue but I can't say much to whether it fixed it or not as my car only gets sun on the weekends since it's garaged at work during the scorching hours of the day! I like the aggressive look it gives the car. Mind you it's still under construction...

Thanks for the opinions guys! I decided to go with the oembmwshop spoiler. I liked the subtleness of the spoiler and that it was painted. I already ordered it and it is being shipped as I am typing this!

HIC is the way to go. The new updated version will not sag and the glossy version is really nice...Much more aggressive than the ebay/endless painted ones too.

Has anyone bought the Carbon Fiber black (looks like it's a new option) finish made by HIC?

I would go with the HIC one it seems like you get a much bigger and more durable looking spoiler than the endlessRPM one

I'm bumping an old thread here, because I'm currently debating which roof spoiler to purchase. EndlessRPM offers a new-ish roof spoiler made by Fiber Kreations, which looks very similar to the HIC version 2 option:

EnlessRPM:
https://www.endlessrpm.com/acura-tl-...-roof-spoiler/

HIC
https://www.hicusastore.com/acura-tl...4-08-version-2

I just don't know if the EndlessRPM option is worth the extra money. It's $195 (as opposed to HIC's $100) and I would still need to get it color-matched. However, I do like the fact that it isn't just cheap plastic. Which one do you think looks better? I like both lol.

PS - Can anyone shed light as to how difficult it is to remove the ugly HIC logo from their roof spoilers? Is it a sticker, raised emblem, painted logo, ect.? This will also be a contributing factor to my decision, because I do NOT want that logo on my spoiler, if I chose this option.

I personally like the HIC carbon fiber style of the version 2. It’s strong and sturdy. Hasn’t lost its mold under the hot Florida sun. As for the logo it’s just a sticker that easily comes off. I think they did that for advertising and marketing of course but to also give the buyer the option of a clean look if they want to remove it.

The H.I.C version 2 spoiler is awesome.
I had it on the base 07 TL, and it adds a nice cosmetic touch. For reference, I got the glossy black version.

I am going to be placing an order for another one, want to add something to the Type-S and seeing as July 4th sales should be popping up shortly,
its probably a good time to grab one.

Plus H.I.C hardly does sales, I think twice a year, once for new years and another for July 4.

Thanks guys, this is excellent feedback! I think I'm going to go with the HIC version 2 spoiler (gloss black). In the end, spending $195 + the cost to paint match the EndlessRPM spoiler isn't worth it.

Here’s a shot of my CF style version 2. Glad I went with this one because the gloss one had swirl marks from washing the car every other weekend.

Gosh that does look good, doesn't it? I have carbon fiber accents throughout my car already, but I just didn't know if a carbon fiber roof spoiler would look tacky.

Swirls were my biggest concern with the gloss black option. I had semi-transparent OEM window visors on an old Grand Prix GTP and the swirls were ridiculous. I ended up taking them off because of it. If the semi-transparent acrylic is similar, then the swirls will be an issue. Now I need to re-think my decision lol.

Yeah I’m actually dealing with swirls on my OEM window visors that I’m actually thinking of having hydro-dipped in CF to match my spoiler. HIC sells those too in CF.

I don't have too many pics of the spoiler from my previous TL. I installed it before the winter and it was gone after a few months.
here is a link to my thread on the car though, there is a pic or two in there showing the spoiler on the vehicle, but nothing showing up close detail.
I don't even think I had the car long enough after installing the spoiler to notice swirl marks.
I will be going glossy black though, especially since my TL is NBP and there is no CF anywhere else on the car, exterior or interior.
I feel that adding the spoiler in CF will look tacky AF, and swirl marks should be pretty easily avoidable as long as you use the correct washing method (2 bucket)

Also, I was able to verify that HIC doesn't do a July 4th sale, well at least not this year. However, they were nice enough to send me a 10% discount code.

Here is the link to my old thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...-920971/page4/
