any guidance and help is much appreciated! ive got some big plans for my Cl and im exicted to be here!
You have to remove the center console(armrest) Then remove the trim under the steering wheel (pops right out) and remove the rubber stoppers from the glove box, there are screws behind both. The hu is mounted inside the console. It's bolted, so you have to get all that stuff out, then remove the headunit and pocket (they're attached) That's it. Not too hard, just figuring out how to get the console apart the first time is a bitch. After that, ripping your interior apart is simple, I do it all the time

so if the pocket is attached...i take it that means i have to get an adapter/dash kit to mount the HU huh?

http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOHA1563B?vq_id=none

that work? anone know of a cheaper place? sounddomain just has a readily available stock...

also, is this an easy plug and play:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOHA02B?vq_id=none

or does it require some fiddling to get it to work? ive used several that arent wired properly or marked...

thanks again for th ehelp!

yes they work for our cars, but the "kits" are just led's and smt resistors which can be purchased at your local electronic store. If your no good with a soldering iron the pre-done stuff might be a good deal for you.

It's pretty straightforward, put the dynamat whereever you hear rattles. Lifting up the carpet is as easy as pulling pins.

fyi i replaced one on an old car and it kept getting loose. Its one of those things that once u strip the housing its a pain in the ass to get it right again. I did it myself and it kept getting loose so i just took the factory part I ordered in the next time I needed something done at the dealer and they only charged me about $15 to put it in.

Failed Emmissions Test...Catalytic Converter Install

Hey Guys,
My CL failed the emmissions testing and I took it to a good friend who happens to be a high-end master mechanic. When he checked it out he said I needed a new cat. converter and it was going to cost $1400 installed. I don't have that kind of cash, so does anybody know if I can get an aftermarket catalytic converter online for cheap that would pass the tests? Also, should I try the install or should I take it somewhere? Also, does anybody have any clue how much coin I should expect to drop on this little repair if I let somebody else install it?
Thanks
