It is. The next one will be too, based on the next gen Camry coming out next spring.

According to the 2006 Chicago Auto Schedule shown here Lexus will have a "World introduction" on Feb. 8th at 9:15 AM. Since we know the LS will have been introduced by then (Detroit Auto Show), could this be the next generation Lexus ES?

It must be the ES, since we know the next gen will definitely be out in the spring. I look forward to seeing it.

If the new ES looks is based on the camry, but touched up to fit the lexus line, i think they'll have a serious winner. The 07 Camry looks terrific for a family sedan (with the exception of the nose) =D

I agree and disagree. I think the Camry is bland at best, with a somewhat good looking rear, and an ugly front fascia. That shat, it's got the right size and proportions... with the new Lexus look (styling, lines, detailing) applied to it, it'll be a hell of a winner.

Speaking of ass, the ass is big on that camo'd ES.

I think that ass was made for Bruce Bruce to hit...

How sad that Joe Grandpa will dust a GS300 in his ES350 and pay much less for it. That GS350 is not coming soon enough.

Naaahhhhh. Who wants that, now? We know there's a GS460 around the corner, with about 100 more HP.

True but the gs300 doesn't really have any luxury elements other than rwd that I think will really set it above and beyond the new es350, unless this new car looks as awkward as the current car.

Sitting in a current ES and GS, the ES felt richer to me, and more comfortable as well. Only thing I found to be better on the GS was the metal plate gauges.

The design on the current ES is fine. It will never be a sport sedan; the IS and GS are there for that role.

Don't expect any huge changes, though. A mild redesign.

I'm too lazy to check, but that can't be right. First it was ES300, than changed to ES330 in which headlights and taillights were modified, and the latest one where the interior was changed a bit (different wood, metallic accents added). That couldn't have happened in just 3 years.

Its a completly new model now, its not just a refresh of the current body style (that already was done with the es330) just look at the pics of the new camry and you will get a good feel for what it will look like

No. The current version's a facelifted refresh. Also, the new engine was introduced then. This will be a complete next gen redesign. Ofcourse, as with it's Camry roots, so goes the ES. From what I understand, it's really excellent, though.

Yeah, the ES330 was a refresh of the ES300.

But I still don't expect anything groundbreaking in terms of style.

Well, from what I understand it won't be groundbreaking at all. But it's supposed to be a very handsome car, like a baby LS, with more style than it has now. I'm happy as long as it doesn't look like a pokemon toy.

My first car was a 1997 ES300. While i have since then converted to the religion of RWD, I have to admit the ES was a great car. The leather was soft, the environment was posh, and the ride waas lux but not too floaty. I am looking forward to see the new ES, and see if it would stand up to the competition.

^^ No, the new one should also be a boring ass soft riding car too. You don't want it to compete with the IS and GS. There is a market for cars like the ES as sales have shown.

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that the new ES design would retain the current headlight
