Lamborghini: Urus News
According to information from Lamborghini, the new SUV is to be competition for such SUV's as the Cayenne. The company is hoping to prepare the SUV for production between 2005 and 2006. It will be built on the Gallardo platform and stylistically it will have cues from the Gallardo and the Murcielago. The top version is expected to have a 500hp, 5.0L engine and a 6 speed semi-automatic transmission."

i agree with red. bring back the LM and ill be fine with it. anything less than a hummer sized bohemoth is not going to float. btw, who wants a 500hp minivan, thats what it looks like.

Greeeeat another one for the tools in the crowd (not that SUV drivers are tools, but the ones that need a Porshce SUV or a Lambo SUV)...want a Lambo AND an SUV...but help me out here...Lambo is owned by VW, who worked closely with Porsche in the devlopment of the Cayenne/Touareg...anyone see where I am going with this?
Aren't the Touareg and Cayenne build next to each other, or did they doth set up separate lines for that?

well for the idiots that don't know. Lamborghini was originally a TRUCK and Farm Equipment manufacturer.
Lamborghini made a popular `hummer-like` suv up until the early 90's... called the LM
I think a lamborghini truck is cool since it is the roots of the company.
But i agree... if its anything like that picture i will puke,

Front end looks like a Gallardo/Mazda CX7 combo with a rear profile that resembles the NIssan Murano. The setup reminds me of the Nissan Qashqai concept. That said, .

Espada, Miura out, SUV in - - Source: Autoweek
Word is the next model to join the Lamborghini lineup, in 2008 at the earliest, will be a sport/utility vehicle based on parent company Audi’s upcoming Q5. Winkelmann said a performance SUV could fit well with the Lamborghini brand.

_____ like a rabbit
because of VWs part sharing/whoring, Porsches image has been tainted imo, Cayenne, and now Lamborghini is heading down the same path...

Spy Shots: 2009 Lamborghini SUV - - by Hans Lehmann/Hidden Image - - Source: The Car Connection
The Audi-owned Italian sportscar maker Lamborghini is building an SUV again, it seems, from prototypes spotted in Europe.
This strange-looking Porsche Cayenne is actually a mule for the upcoming SUV by Lamborghini. Because Porsche did most of the work when developing the VW Touareg and the Audi Q7 , they also got the responsibility to develop the Lamborghini SUV.
The engine for the new ute will probably be a version of the V-10 from the Gallardo and Audi's S6 and S8 , but a 4.5-liter V-8 from the Cayenne could be available. A diesel version is also in the plans, using the 5.9-liter Audi V-12 TDI.
Between 1982 and 1993 Lamborghini built approximately 300 SUVs under the LM 002 badge. The monster SUV was powered by the V-12 from the Lamborghini Countach, making as much as 455 hp. At the time, Lamborghini's offering was seen as an oddity. But with the success that Porsche has had with the Cayenne , a Lamborghini ute doesn't seem so offbeat now.
Our photos show the SUV prototype wearing Cayenne body panels, as well as a computer image giving an artist's impression of how a future Lamborghini SUV could look.
