Not bad, but 100lbs heavier & some 5 inches longer.
Bit more power & torque from the turbo-4.
Not as good looking as the ND, IMO.

Like the Fiat's rear better. The front is very meh.
Why is it 5 in longer, as mentioned? Confirmed?

I liked Fiat exterior more...but Im annoyed the interior is the EXACT same. They could have changed that a bit, too.

I think the Fiat is ugly... right away when I saw the first photo and looked at the hood and windshield/A frame, I thought Crossfire.
Also, three rows of lights on the front makes it look way too busy.
I think the Miata is much nicer.

^ Agreed, though I believe the silver windshield hoop can be had in body color as an option.
Still would take the ND 100x over the Fiata.

Having seen the new Miata on the streets now a few times. I'm just not loving it. Its cold and lifeless with a Jaguar ass end.
This design has character. To me anyway.

No, I know that. The second I saw the picture though, I immediately thought of the NB styling. The ND does not look like an NB. For some reason, I feel this does. I must be on some bad Canadien drugs, or something. Probably something.
Whoever said crossfire is very right. I'm not a fan of the Fiata. I like the ND much more.

Since everyone is going retro, maybe Mazda should have put the Flip up headlight back on like the NA Miata with a modern twist. (projector with LED when flipped up)

Safety is what killed the pop ups.

they are not safe?

Not for pedestrians when they get hit. Other than styling changing over the years, I think this is what officially killed the pop ups altogether. I think it's illegal for a new car to have them. Sad, really.

wtf kinda of logic is that?
Was that law proposed by California? If Pedestrian safety is the reason, then they should ban all Lexus since their angular bumper will kill Pedestrian instantly.

Nvm, not California. It was Europe.
With time, the motors and electrical equipment of pop-ups inevitably failed. An epidemic ensued of winking cars (one side open, the other closed) and cars with headlights perpetually popped open. Eventually, the regulations surrounding headlights loosened, and instead of hiding them, carmakers began to use them as a significant design element. By the late ’90s, the pop-up headlight had left the mainstream and became the sole custody of the sports car, dying out in 2004 with the Lotus Esprit V-8 and the Chevrolet Corvette. The lights are likely to stay dead, as Europe’s stringent pedestrian-impact regulations make it difficult, costly, and impractical to develop a compliant pop-up headlight.

No, not really. The design of the Lexus front ends likely reduces injuries if pedestrians are struck. It's not the bumper itself, but more so the overall shape of the front of the car, including the hood angle, etc. pedestrian safety is a huge reason why cars look like they do these days. Ever notice those annoying, triangle windows adjacent to the A-pillar? Those started being implemented due to the overall shape of the car and reduction to pedestrian injury.
If you get mowed down by a car with pop ups, you have two additional "bricks" able to smash into you. Pop ups have resulted in some gruesome injuries in the past.
Granted, this stuff only works to a certain extent. If someone hits you at 60mph, you're likely dead, regardless of what hit you.

2018 Fiat 124 Spider
Press release...
The Fiat 124 Spider revives the storied nameplate, bringing its classic Italian styling and performance to a new generation. Paying homage to the original 124 Spider 50 years after its introduction, the Fiat 124 Spider delivers the ultimate Italian roadster experience with driving excitement, technology and safety combined with iconic design. The 124 Spider is available in three trim levels: Classica, Lusso or, for performance enthusiasts, Abarth.
The Fiat 124 Spider is the most affordable turbo-powered convertible in America, with a starting price of $24,995 U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).
The roadster comes standard with the proven 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine, the engine’s first application in a rear-wheel-drive vehicle. The engine delivers best-in-class 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque on Classica and Lusso, 164 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque on Abarth, and is available with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission
The 124 Spider’s suspension uses a double-wishbone layout in front and a multi-link in the rear, specifically tuned for greater stability while braking and turning. Steering is light and responsive with the use of an electric power assist (dual pinion) system. Noise vibration and harshness (NVH) enhancements, including an acoustic front windshield and insulation treatments, also help to deliver a refined, quiet ride.
The Fiat 124 Spider Classica features a dual-tip exhaust, black roll bar finish, and body-color header, side sills and door handles. The vehicle also comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, Nero (black) premium cloth seats, halogen headlamps and LED tail lamps. Inside, soft-touch materials on the instrument panel are highlighted with light silver accents
The Fiat 124 Spider Lusso model builds on the Classica, with standard 17-inch alloy wheels, silver-painted A-pillar header and roll-bar cover and dual-tip chrome exhaust. The interior features heated premium leather seats in Nero (black) or Saddle and a leatherette-wrapped cluster brow. The lower instrument panel also is wrapped in leatherette, with Piano Black accents throughout.
The Fiat 124 Spider Abarth offers a sportier, more responsive driving experience for performance enthusiasts. Features include a front and rear Bilstein sport suspension, mechanical limited-slip differential, front strut tower bar, Sport Mode selector and sport-tuned chrome quad-tip exhaust with the world-renowned Abarth sound. Its aggressive appearance comes complete with unique front and rear fascia, 17-inch Gun Metal aluminum wheels, Gun Metal exterior accents and an available hand-painted hood stripe, offering a one-of-a-kind appearance. Other available features include a Brembo braking system and Recaro seats for added sportiness.
Available with an array of safety and security features, including full LED adaptive front headlamps, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection and ParkView rear backup camera.
Loaded with technology and convenience features, including Keyless Enter ‘n Go, Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats, available Bose premium nine-speaker audio system and FIAT Connect 7.0 with 7-inch touchscreen display.
