[QUOTE=JRock]You know how when you call in to a radio station or write a letter to a magazine, you give them your name and town?

If we could please make a list here giving the following information I believe it would be beneficial to members who would like to print a list of verifiable transmission replacements to show their dealers we aren't making this stuff up.

[b]Year Model of car - 2002 TLS
[b]Full Name Mark K
[b]Town, State - Plano TX
[b]Number of transmission failures? - 1 @ 26k miles / 3 yrs 2 months
[b]Dealer - David McDavid Acura Plano

Dealer didn't challenge the failure or fault. Of course I cut them off at the knees first. I told them "it was a shame that Acura advertises a 260HP Sports Sedan and you have to baby it to keep from blowing the tranny . . . I mean why even sell a 260HP version . . wait a minute . . the 225HP version is failing too. Must be a really bad tranny design."

No comment was the response . . . the sales guy on the other hand commented on the bad engineering design.

So no gripes from them . . . they got it back to me in by the 2nd day. The only thing that sucks is the new PCM . . . and it really sucks.

Phong Li
so cali
1st failure at around 26k miles
dealer - riverside acura

when shifting from 3rd to 4th the speed didnt pick up, but rpm went up
had my car at the dealer for almost 2 weeks, at first they tried to fix my old tranny and tried to put it back in but the problem was still there so they had to order a new one. it sucked to wait cuz they gave me a crappy azz 4 cylinder car, a chevrolet cavalier.... talk about downgrading! then when i got my car back, feels like the power wasnt there anymore. Anybody got any tips on how to get it back? I miss the power

After my 3rd replacement I had the car replaced for FREE by American Honda via bbb.org autoline. I fought my case by telling them how dangerous this could be..

No 2002 CL

OK, I just looked through all of these and didn't see a plain 2002 CL with a blown tranny.

Are these immune somehow?

Do drivers of the "S" just romp on their cars and tear up the tranny fast?

1 tranny failure at 23k

I also had warped rotors which were machined and new pads installed. I now have near 38k on the car and I think my roters are again warped. I am feeling some vibration on braking at highway speeds.

You must be hard on those binders, may need new rotors. Hard stopping cost money.
