Although mine is still ok at 52K, but this is a very scary list to say the least Acura should really do a recall with this very serious problem. I was considering a 2004 TL, not any more!!!No more Honda, period.
I hardly punch it these days when I drive. I am really babying the tranny. Originally I plan to keep it another year(it's all paid for ), but now I don't know. I will probably keep it until summer. But damn, this list is scary!!!

PYE Acura
Tranny Replaced at 30K took 4 days.
Service at PYE ACURA was POOR to say the Least. The fact that I didn't buy the Car at their Dealership seemed to be a HUGE issue. I had to HOUND them just to get a Rental Car.

Took four days to replace by Baierl Acura. I was thoroughly impressed...except for the fact that I got to drive a POS Focus for those days.

The Acura adjuster just called me back concerning my request for them to pay my medical bills or at least that portion not covered by insurance. They said they will not do that as they did not ever get to examine the faulty transmission. They claim the Acura dealer where I had the replacement done did not preserve it, so they will not pay anything to me without my going to court. Well at least now when i sue them I can have a clear conscience that they fully deserve it.

replaced tranny @ 23000 miles
so from what I read so far Acura will just keep on replacing trannies when they break down and will never improve on them.

Tranny Replaced at 45K
2001 Acura CL Type-S
Irvine, CA
Replaced 1st tranny at 45K
I started noticing that the tranny was slipping around 2 or 3 months ago. It did not shift from 2nd gear to 3rd. At first, the problem only occured sparingly. But it started to happen almost every other day, once or twice each day, in the span of 3 weeks. I finally took it in to the dealer on Wednesday and got the car back Friday(today) of the same week. Replaced transmission and converter for free (covered by warranty).

1st tranny replaced at 48,000 miles. While entering freeway, auto shifted through 1st and 2nd gears only to find there was NO third gear (like going into neutral).
2nd tranny replaced last week at 78,000. Doing about 65 on the freeway, the front wheels locked up momentarily, tach spun up to around 5,500, and then everything went back to normal ... for about 5 seconds ... then BOOM, same thing. Scares the crap out of you to have the front wheels lock up like that.
Thinking it's time to switch as I just don't trust that Acura has fixed the POS transmission.
