Tranny went out many times so invoked CA lemon law via bbb.org and had my car bought back and replaced.
I might have been one of the first since they kept putting in another defective tranny. The last time they fixed it they told me it was the TCU (tranny control unit) that was malfunctioning.

Tranny started slipping real bad 24,200
At Executive Acura now in North Haven, CT
First problem with the car in 27 months! At least I was prepared. Rotors also seem to be warped. Was aware that could happen too. At least I didn't have problems from day one with this car like I did with my previous car.
Dropped off car 6/19/03 in the afternoon. Gave me a 2003 Silver TL to drive. Called me 6/20 and told me tranny on order. Will call me next Tuesday.
Was a "little" disappointed in "Mrs. Goodwrench's" reaction when I told her about the tranny and the rotors. I had an IMMEDIATE flashback to 33 months of dealing with "5-STAR" Chrysler dealers with my previous "award-winning Motor Trend Car of the Year" 99 Chrylser 300M!! I HATE it when they play DUMB or treat you like you know NOTHING about cars!
I've printed out several pages from the different topics here that I will present to her to "educate" her so that the next customer who comes in with these problems will not have to deal with her "confused" looks or her pounding on the keyboard entering the info because she "caught" a customer who was knowledgeable about the situation and had an answer for every question she asked!
WHY are they like this? This is one of those "award-winning" Acura dealers!! Do they hate their job that much that they have to cop an attitude right off? I had all I could do to keep my mouth shut from asking her what I said/did that seemed to piss her off! Maybe she was just having a bad day. It certainly wasn't busy there!

I was pretty sure that as nice as I drive, I would avoid joining "the club." But after reading here about new failures and the shinanigans with the dealers on a weekly basis, I was prepared for the inevitable. And it happened last week. After a couple of occasional slips a few weeks ago, I heard and felt a good clunk and took it to the dealer, where they put me in a Focus and sent me on my way. They said 10-14 days. What can you do? We all need to write to the NHTSA and demand a recall! If you have a Honda/Acura automatic tranny, hold on with both hands, because it's a ticking time bomb. And don't ever think it won't happen to you....

Went in to get new brake pads put on.. I told the dude to look at
tranny cause it was doing some sketchy shit. Long story short, New Tranny at 42,000 miles.
