hello everyone...

i have a 2003 Acura CL Type S with manual transmission. i have been driving this car for 3 years and never had a problem until i got into an accident.

i had issues with putting in the gear to stage 3. ( gear 3) so i used to speed up from 2 and skip 3 and go to 4. for a year i had no problem with it. for many reasons i wasn't able to fix it. anyways, lately changing gear ( any gear )became harder and i thought its from its Clutch, but the mechanic said its from the engine. so i parked the car and never drove it. now when i turn on the car, it starts shaking badly, a white smokes comes out of the exhaust and the RPM ( when its parked) goes up and down. when i press the gas it is still the same. i just left the car there and dont know what to do with it and whats wrong with it.

it has a very loud voice when it sakes. mostly the exhaust..

Shifting problem - Check shifter bushings, replace transmission fluid, possibly synchros
Shaking - engine mounts
Fluctuating idle - Idle Air Control Valve or vacuum leak

Get a new mechanic too.

What is your best guess about its financial damage?

Is there any tutorial that shows how to check all those on 03 Acura Cl?
Or could somebody lead me how to so Incan save lots of money!

How handy are you with a wrench? Mechanics will rip you off for all of that. Aside from the possible synchro issue, those are all things you can fix in a day for the cost of parts - which at most would be $500, the bulk of which going to mounts.

Generally speaking

white smoke from exhaust = blown head gasket..... if the car shakes at idle and you have this smoke, you most likely going to need engine work. Pull the plugs one by one and inspect them

blue smoke = oil comsumption

black smoke is excess fuel
