Rays Gram Lights 57F fitment on 2003 CL-S
I have a staggered set of these wheels that I'm wondering what I will have to do to fit them on my bone stock 2003 CL Type-S.
Two wheels measure 17x9.5 wide with a +38 offset, I am planning on running 255/45-17 tires on those.
The other two wheels measure 17x8.5 wide with a +40 offset, I am planning on running 235/45-17 tires on those.
Hoping these will fit as they are with my vehicle being stock height right now, without rolling fenders. However, in the future I would like to slightly drop the car on Tein H-tech springs..but that is a question for another day.
For now, will these wheels and tires fit on my car as it is without rubbing at all under any specific conditions? Looking for knowledge on this subject with this car, not speculation. Thanks.

If you want to run rims that aggressive you need to do coilovers with dampening and camber kits to do it properly. I rub occasionally in the rear on my 8 wide 35 offset 235/40 tires with rolled fenders.
All that is in addition to the fact it'll look really goofy with super wide rims with no drop.

the fronts won't be too bad, but those rears will need stretched tires, camber, rolled fenders and a stiff suspension. If you want to keep the OEM ride quality, these rims won't work. The rears will stick out almost 2" more than OEM rims. It's too bad many of the pictures are down here because you could see what these setups look like. I do love some gram lights though.
I've been out of the coilover game for a while but I'd try the XLR8 ISC coilovers. Seem like good quality and dampening adjustments. I'd search our sponsors stores for what options there are for camber kits too.

Yeah man, they're mint..really want to see them on my car.
Hey, just to make sure we're on the same page, I'm going to be running the 9.5s up front and the 8.5s in the rear.
I was thinking of going with tein for suspension. Street advance z? I will check for camber kits.

ya those are sweet. Out of curiosity, why are you running the wider rims up front? Normally people put those in the rear, unless you're a FWD race car.
My old Tein's were good to me. But you'll definitely want to have dampening. Stiffening up the suspension will stop a lot of rubbing.

as far as putting the 9.5s up front and the 8.5s in the rear, it just makes sense to me to have the drive hubs with the wider wheels. Like if the CL was rwd then I would definitely put the 9.5s on the back. Idk, just seems logical to put them up front for this car. Ideally though, would have loved to have thinner wheels like 8s and the same width for all 4 but I couldnt pass up this set of wheels with the condition that theyre in and for the price that i got.
im probably just going to have to order the tires and then put my car on stands & attempt to throw the wheels on just so I can get a clearer idea of how much added clearance I will need. Appreciate the input, man..you've always been a huge help when Ive needed info! 👍

Tires got here yesterday so the inaugural installation of wheels will be this week/weekend. I will put the 8.5s up front and 9.5s in rear after all by the way. Wish me luck in hoping that these will clear!!
