Size of the wheel would be helpful.

Only know the tire specs
Believe you are gaining 1.2 inch in diameter. 245 40 18 would have been 25.7 vs stock 25.5 or 235 40 18 is 25.4. I could be wrong a bit tired. 18x8s would fit either tire well.
Not sure how or if it fits CL 2001. Own the same vehicle.

Leaning towards a no go 245 45 18 based upon rubbing comments on https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-tires-wheels-suspension-54/tire-size-18x8-888217/ thread.

Wheel size and offset also matter.

I am running a 255/35/18 on a 18x8.5 +52 wheel. My setup only has 3mm clearance from the front suspension.

I could go with a 18x8.5 or 18x9 with a +45 offset for slightly better fit.

You can do some calculations on www.1010tires.com website. Use the tire size and wheel offset calculators.

You will probably need to roll rear fenders and grind down or relocate rear bumper tabs.

Even with my 225/40/18 on 18x8 rims with 45 offset still hits in the front over nasty bumps. Or if ur ancy going over a speed bump. Technically it fits but it has its imperfections unfortunately.

I am not rockin any serious camber tho, but my car is no where near dumped to the ground.

I suppose if I went a couple of degrees down it would not hit but I cannot imagine having any bigger tires in their and not having any less problems then that

It will fit on a CL with stock suspension, the only time he may rub is when hitting a large bump at a good rate of speed, that will be the only time.

My fronts don't rub at all with 18x8.5 +52 with 255/35/18 with a 1 finger gap. I am using ingalls control arms.

What brand tire you runnin?

I researched that Ron dog did the Pirelli p zero in 255/35/18 on a 48 offset and seemed to be successful. No modifications regarding rolling or cuttin fender/tabs

I was under the assumption pirrelis were the only brand KNOWN to be able to do this as they may run tad on the small size?
