SRS Light - ELD? (P1298)

Hi there! Recently my SRS light came on. I scanned the car and a P1298 code popped up, which is for the Electronic Load Detector (ELD). This is a bit confusing as the ELD seems to be separate from any SRS components. A few questions.

Is there a connection between a faulty ELD and the car throwing an SRS light?
How would I go about fixing an ELD for the CL? Has anybody done this before?

Thank you all!

Completely unrelated. The SRS codes aren't stored in the PCM. The SRS light is probably a bad seat belt latch. The dealer will fix it for free if it is. Google how to pull an SRS code from an Acura CL. The ELD is in your engine compartment fuse box and as far as I can tell, tells your alternator when to output and when not to output.

The SRS light in my 2002 CL-S is on. Tried reseting a few times - it keeps coming on. Bought and installed a replacement seatbelt latch assembly - after awhile, teh SRS light is on again. Any suggestions?

Thanks

You should have taken it to an Acura dealer to replace the seat belt buckle for free, it is warranted for life of the car.
If you still have the original buckle, put it back and take it to an Acura dealer. Worse case is to pay diagnostics fee

I prefer not to go to the dealer. Ihave the diagnostics report, it says faulty seat belt buckle. As mentioned already, I replaced the buckle assembly (diagnostic report done before replacement), but the SRS light is still on. Looking for ideas what to do next. Thanks.

Welcome to the board!

Check the grounds and then trace the circuit lines for fraying, corrosion or disconnects:

Similar issues as examples, maybe you are familiar with the issues and different warranties for different countries for the civic 7th gen 2001+:

There's a section in the service manual that explains how to get DTC codes related to the SRS system. I would start there to hone in on where the problem lay.
