03 TL onto a 01 CL-S swap

I have a 01 CL-S and I've been wanting to make it look better by taking the front bumper skin and headlights, possibly the grill to from a 02-03 TL or Cl-S. I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me if those parts can be swapped or not or if I'm going to need to swap over the whole front end ie: fenders and hood. Maybe the core support if the hood latch is in a different spot. I'm on a budget so it would be a part at a time kind of thing but if I actually can hot swap those parts out to give my 01 the look of an 03, that would be cool. I've also looked into body kits and there's nothing I like or haven't found the right one. So question is can I interchange the front end of a 03 TL or CL and bolt it on to my 01 CL-S.

LOL, logically, if you have the front end components of an '03 CLS and want to transfer them to your '01 CLS they should work because it is the same car model (coupe); therefore, your probability of 'success' is the highest.

If you have the front end components of an '03 TLS and want to transfer them to your '01 CLS (not sure why you'd want this look on a coupe) then the probability of success is lower because it is a different car model (sedan).

You can find out for yourself by comparing the part numbers for each part you intend on transferring by using an on-line parts dealer like the one below:

Good Luck!

Basically it boils down to, I want a more sporty look on my car and my wife and my friends all say that it looks like a total chick car. I can’t afford the challenger I want so I’m stuck with this for now ha ha ha. I have been looking all over the net for aftermarket headlights, clear fog lights or even a custom front bumper for it without having to get a full body kit. The one that keeps popping up in searches is always the same one and it looks like crap. All I want to do is redo the exterior a little. I’ve already got a set of wheels I’m getting later, so if I could find some headlight housings that would give it a better look then I’d be almost there.

I found some really cool housings for The 03 TLS and wth that same year front bumper, with the car lowered a little I think it would look cool. Plus the TL bumper is squared more at the bottom compared to the 01 cL that I have.

FWIW: There are quite a few Pick-N-Pull Salvage yards, in Texas. You could always go to one, and experiment. As I recall, the hood, headlights, and grille, are different, 01 CL to 03TL. On the 01 CL, the grille, is attached to the hood. On the 03 TL, the grille is attached to the bumper cover. However, assuming the core support hood latch location, is the same distance, from the cowl, a bumper cover, hood and headlight swap, from an 03, MIGHT work.
