Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and honestly know zilch about cars. I am thankfully needing to upgrade the LS2 tires that came on my 15 TLX, 2.4, and was looking for some insight on new tires. I don't drive crazy, I do drive fast some times and will take a curve around 70+ mph. I am located in PHX so dry weather, and of course our lovely monsoons. Sometimes will take a trip up north to maybe see snow but not often. Any input would be appreciated. I have been told to look into the Yokohama Ascend. I would say $175 or lower a tire would be the budget. Thanks!

Had those tires on my 3G TL and they were great. Currently have the Michelin A/S 3+ on my TLX and love them
I'm new to this forum too and I have to agree that the Michelin A/S 3+ are great. I currently have them on my TL. When it comes to tires, you should not cheap out on them but also don't break the bank.

How is the noise and life on the A/S 3+ tires? I been reading on several different forums, seem like there's a problem with the noise level is high after 10k miles, and tread life is short.
I'm looking to replace my tires as well. Running on the orginal tires on my 4cy tlx, currently has 60k miles and 2/32 left.

It probably differs by car, but the A/S 3+ tires on my wife's Mazda got real noisy after 10,000 miles. In the case of my 2006 TL, I have nearly 30,000 miles on my Pirelli Cinturato P7s and they are still perfectly quiet.

Yeah, that's what most mentioned the A/S 3+ get real noisy but great for traction. I am looking toward the continental DWS06.

Have you decided which tires you go with?
Funny thing, the fact the Pirelli Cinturato P7s are pretty much an inch or more wider than virtually any other 235/45 R17 tire means they have surprisingly good traction, possibly even better than the A/S 3+ tires; the biggest difference I notice is the A/S 3+ has slightly crisper handling. Maybe it's because I'm old, but I gladly trade off a small portion of crispness for a HUGE improvement in noise.
Have had my tires on for almost 30k miles now and they're still a really great tire. Tire noise is hard to gauge around here in the Bay Area because there's construction everywhere so roads are inconsistent. I'd say they're still quiet, much better than the Bridgestones at a similar mileage. I may want to go back to Pirellis though. I had them on my 3G TL before it got totaled and I was very happy with them at the time.
