Peeling Paint Around Rear Windshield

After driving a G3 TL for years, I purchased a pre-owned G5 (2015) TLX last week. I have been happy with it for the most part, though there are a few changes that seem to be worse than the TL. Overall, I’m happy with it. Today, however I noticed that the paint around the rear windshield is peeling off. I called the dealership and they said they believe it’s just “tint” and to bring it in and they’ll fix it. I don’t think it has anything to do with “tint.” Any thoughts?

Looks like maybe plasti dip? Or the black weather stripping is coming a part like a bird pecked at it or something. Either way your dealer said they would take care of it so I wouldn't think too hard about it

I think I remember someone else posting some similar issue. Something to do with sealant that was painted and now failing? Can't remember where I saw it.

That sounds more like it. It definitely isn’t plasti dip or trim. The dealership took pics and sent them to Acura. I’m waiting to see how they will respond.

Thank you!! This makes me feel much better. I will be calling the dealership in a few hours to let them know I’m not the only one who has had this problem and to see if they have updates. It was good to read that the paint warranty falls under the bumper to bumper warranty at 4 years/50,000 miles too. I’m still under warranty. Thanks again.

Just to give you all an update, Acura has agreed to repaint the car. I’m taking it in Monday. Thanks for the info!

I had the same issue with my 2015 - same color too. The dealer had to repaint the whole roof and both quarter panels.
