2018 A-SPEC Passenger Seat belt buckle rattle

Does anyone else have an issue with the passenger side seat belt buckle rattling against the B-Pillar? Mine does and it is driving me crazy. The only things I can think to do are either 1) move the seat position 2) buckle it at all times.3) apply fleece tape to the buckle. I didn't have this issue on my 2015, so it must have to do with the different seat side bolstering giving the buckle less room to move.

I have this issue, too. It's not that bothersome to me but when it's annoying, I fasten the passenger seat belt.

My 2018 AWD Tech also does this. Has anyone found a good solution (other than applying foam / fleece tape to the buckle)?

my entire passenger seat vibrates on the highway. Really good look for a $45,000 "luxury" car.

^technically; it's still an entry level premium car.

and then, price paid isnt indicative of reliability.

Tell me, what must I spend to ensure my passenger seat doesn't vibrate at highway speeds? I would have thought that a car company that uses the slogan "precision crafted performance" would ensure I have a smooth ride, at minimum.

I guarantee I could go to my local Kia dealer and plop down $20K and leave with a car that drives better on the highway than my "entry level premium" $45,000 TLX.

Probably would if I wasn't locked into this lemon for another 31 lease payments.

Acura has a long damn way to go.

Does it on my 2019 as well--heard it the first night I drove it home, 14 miles on it and I was thinking, 'WTF is that!?'

Have you tried something like this? I've had the Drop Stop in my various cars over the last 5 or so years so I haven't heard my seat belt buckles rattling in my 2015 TLX Tech or my new 2018 ASPEC SHAWD. It's available in a bunch of stores so it is easy to find and purchase.

Guys, it's a vibration that many 5th gen TLXs have. It's not wheels and tires. It's the subframe which is not strong enough to carry the weight of AWD. Use the search feature top right of screen.

I owned a 15TLX and never had a seat belt rattle. I had the subframe vibration so "been there, done that". I actually was mistaken thinking it was the buckle rattling against the B pillar. It is actually the buckle receptacle vibrating against the side of the center console. Honda was aware enough about it to put a felt pad on the inside of the buckle receptacle. I think with the new seat design for the 18 ASPEC's this is a new problem.

Mines rattled since I took delivery. During my first oil change the tech noticed it. They ordered and installed a new buckle free of charge.

I had the issue with my 2015 and now with the new 2019. It’s very annoying and drives me crazy.

i grew up with cheap American made cars that rattled from possibke and nearing any kind of rattling with a high end car gets me a little crazy. I’m glad I, not alone.

I also had the same issue with my 2018 A Spec. Dealer replaced the buckle free of charge. All "Life Safety" devices are warrantied on our car for the life of the car.

I captured a video of a 2018 2.4L ASPEC doing this. The seat was vibrating too. Both of these are symptoms of a bigger root cause (frame vibration). Posted here if you're interested:

My dealer just replaced a buckle that was triggering my seat belt light in my 2004 Acura TSX for free and it has 216k on it. They said life safety devices are always covered under warranty. Maybe its dealer discretion.

I have the same issue with my 2019 AWD A spec.i never thought of any major issue like frame vibration. I only thought of it as having a wiggly piece not stiff enough like the seat buckle hitting the central console. How could that be a frame vibration?
