My 2018 "Type S" TLX ;)
I wanted a "Type S", so, I did this (until they make a real one again, this will do nicely):

You want me to pull off the factory TLX letters so I can put it back like this: "TLX Type S"?
Currently, I can remove that TYPE S sticker without much trouble, prob. just a little rubbing alcohol and be back to factory. It's for my amusement, I don't want to pull the TLX letters off without ordering some spare replacements first...
Or do you mean you are not satisfied with the TLX? I'm very happy with the TLX (dispite wishing for the throttle lag to be removed) and I'll be pleased to drive it for a few years while I imagine a new version with a 3.0T engine coming out in 2019 or 2020...

Did you actually get a turbo kit already? Planning to install it soon? If I had a turbo on mine, I think I'd be happy to keep it until it fell apart into a pile of rusty bolts

I've never been a fan of adding badges. If you think it looks good then keep it on. End of the day it's your car, do what you want with it and whatever you find in good taste.
I like the silver on the TLX. Usually it's a pretty bland color to me on most cars, but silver TLXs are rare and they look pretty darn good.

if you're going to do it, at least do it right. Don't half ass it. It looks stupid now and completely out of order. (Sorry, but it's true- and you won't find many who disagree with me here)

I had a Sienna SE and I wanted to add an X to the end, never got around to that. So I figured why not throw a pretty red sticker on my car? It certainly won't hurt anything and it's not even as tacky as large exhaust tips...
There's never been a "TLX Type S" either, though we presume there will be.
I don't want to remove the factory TLX letters just yet. Maybe later, when the weather's nice again around here. That Type S sticker is temporary, it's a cheap one. If I get an actual metal badge that's better quality, then I'll think about doing it "properly".
Sometimes, some guy will see my badge and be confused, and I'll be amused. I want my TLX to be "Special", but it would be at least two years before I do anything as extreme as adding a turbo to it.
I understand. Heck, I figure some people even find it almost offensive - but, I do like the look, just a tiny touch of flair. I like the stock look of my car, I like my stock wheels a lot - I'm not sure what else I could really do as far as a subtle change to "make it mine". (Most? at least many) other people put one or two small stickers on their car - just something showing something they like, a special place, or the team they root for, etc. I absolutely don't want a ton of bumber stickers, or a 2 foot tall spoiler, or 8 inch wide exhaust tips etc. Just a little something special, just to pretend, until I can actually get some real mods under the hood, or, trade in and upgrade to a real "Type S" if they come out with a Turbo TLX
Thanks - initially I went with silver as I wanted one that's not as hot in the summer as darker colors, but my family doesn't like white cars because they think they'll look dirty fast, if I don't wash it like every day. Then once I brought the silver car home and spent more time with it, I thought, gee, this really is a sweet looking car and the chrome trim that Acura went with stands out less with silver, unlike with the black model where some people will like it and some wont.
Though I know the TLX hasn't been that great of a seller, I do see a LOT of black Acura TLX, TSX, and TL around here - I don't think I can drive five minutes on the local beltway without passing several black TLXes. Of course I notice them now that I have a TLX myself.

I'm pretty sure I've seen scientific evidence red stickers make a car go faster; I suppose the same is true for up-badging. While you're at it, why don't you add a "Turbo" badge to it; something like "Turbo Type-S TLX" or maybe even an edge-to-edge set of badges which say, "Super - Duper - Ultra - Gonzo - Turbo - Type-S - TLX".
Or not.

You're right - my car is a little faster now that I've put the "Type S" badge on. This is achieved by pushing the gas pedal harder.
I'd like a turbo. If I install a turbo, I think I'd make the "A" badge on the front of the car red instead of black, and that's probably all I would do in terms of badges/stickers whatnot.

Hey, I even married a Japanese woman, have half-Japanese kids, and I've got a sweet fancy rice cooker on my counter. So...
But, I still think a 4" exhaust pipe on a Civic is stupid. Even worse, at Mendard's I saw an American brand truck with an 8" exhaust pipe!?! WTF?!?
Anyway, my car is already faster than some stock 350Z are - do I really need more speed? No...
I like my red sticker. It looks nice. Some people have commented "Nice Type S!" - I'm not sure how I should respond, so I tell them "it's just a sticker I put on because I like it".

Oh, my favorite reaction is when people driving behind me look confused, and try to drive a little closer to see my car.

Also if you want to put it in proper order the "TLX" emblem comes in a template so it's easy to install it. Then at least the order will be correct if it was a TLX Type S.

Is there an actual thread for that? I would say this qualifies. May as well add some A-Spec badges as well. Some BMW people add the "M" badge but anyone who knows what a type S is or an M series is gets a laugh out of it. The car is what it is and any enthusiast will know it's a fake. Wait till the Type S actually comes back and then you pay the price you won't have to add the badge. Not much difference than adding some "Brembo" caliper covers on stock calipers. Probably more enthusiasts on this site regularly than not....
