Beez's TLX Build

Hey All,

Here is my 2015 TLX which is a FWD V6 Advanced model. Mods so far are roof spoiler, tints yo, wheels, and tires. Roof spoiler was the eBay special but came painted. Tints yo were local and the fronts are 35% (going 20) and the rears are 5%. The wheels are Stance SC-1 in the silver finish and the tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports (245x35x20).

Sitting in my garage and up next are D2 coilovers, caliper covers, replacement beak, Stance SC-1 in the brushed titanium finish on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and caliper paint. I'll really only use my brushed titanium wheels if I decide to paint the beak and vinyl all the chrome, otherwise I may sell them since I have another little girl on the way.

I like the look for now but will be going low this weekend or next and then make my decision about the vinyl and paint soon. Let me know what y'all think

I had the 19's on my 3G for like 2 months before I took them off so I'm just gonna keep both sets. I got the 20's for the color

I have the same TLX, same roof spoiler (I originally posted the link to that) and getting the Aero kit next week! Btw the stance looks good and looks already lowered?

What are you doing about the grill? And personally I like the current rims, the darker finish would be too dark

The deal with the wheels is because I cant make up my mind. I was originally going with another finish and was going to black out all the chrome and paint the beak GLM. So I ordered the caliper covers and beak with that plan in mind. With the new baby on the way I decided I probably shouldn't spend 4500 on wheels and tires so I went with the silver finish. Now I feel if I paint the beak and then black out the chrome then the only wheels that will go with that look will be my 19's or the ones I originally wanted. At this point Im more than likely going to sell the 19's and just order what I originally wanted.

Not sure if you saw this guys thread (not mine). He did what your talking about, paint match grill and black out chrome. It looks great in my opinion but I like your style better with lighter rims. I might paint match my grill also but leave the rest of the chrome around the car and I have shiny rims already...BTW if you have advance be careful with painting the grill since you have ACC it uses waves in the grill so you can only paint it certain ways without interfering with that

I was side side swiped by a drunk driver a few weeks ago. It won't be fixed until late January due to a backlog in shops in my area. We had a few hail storms come thru earlier this year that set everyone back. I already got my wheel fixed but got to use the 19" for a day.

I also have some new wheels coming in Jan so when I get those in we'll be going a bit lower and adding a custom cargo box for summer road trips.

It's very simple. The RDX caliper cover has 3 tabs which you can adjust and then use high heat adhesive to get it to stick. I did the same with my 3G and they never came loose, and changing my brake pads was still a simple process.

I was wondering how's the ride with the D2's and does it make any noise?

No noise issues and the build quality of the product is good. What did take me a while to adjust would be the dampening settings. Other than that, zero complaints.

Your car looks great btw

Quick update: My cargo box has been delayed. It was supposed to be in late January. The box is really beautiful but they just started production and are having issues setting up vendors in the states. As soon as it arrives I'll have it painted and fix my fender at the same time. The wheels are ready and will be powder coated at that time too.

Ive had a loaner for a week now because I started hearing some rattling noises between 2k and 4K rpms. The car drove and responded fine other than the noise. It had oil and all the regular checks came back fine so I took it in. The tech and I drove around and he had no idea what it could be. I went in the next day to check on t and they stated that no one knew what it could be but it was coming from the heads it seemed. Either way, seems like I broke it pretty good so we will see if I get a call today since I haven't heard anything all week.

Ironically got a call just now and they are needing to special order at new block, apparently there was a bad bearing so they are going to rebuild. Im told it will be a week or 2 before they get the parts
