Solid gains for sure. Any comments on the change in exhaust note? I'd imagine there's no real smell coming from them as there's still a set of cats downstream, but can you confirm?

Great gains.
And i hope RV6 gets a J-pipe out soon for this. This looks less than ideal for flow

Definitely great sound on hard and full throttle. It just gives throatier sound and nothing out of place. You are right on the exhaust smell. I didn't notice much after engine warmed up, only a bit more at cold start.

Picture above, I agree this isn't all that good flow. Wonder why.
Interestingly enough the downstream sensor on the front isn't on the cat but on the pipe.

We have not try dyno with a K&N drop in, however we did with a short ram aftermarket style intake system. The result is quite shocking. We lost 6 horses with the intake system, but it sounded so good when it crossed over to Vtec ......

Man... What was the model of the intake system?
#61
I had the K&N kit. The intake tube is 3.25" with inner diameter of 3.125". OEM is 3" ID where the MAF sensor is. The K&N tube actually slows air velocity while the MAF sensor measures less air than what is actually injested possibly causing a lean condition. Butt dyno says possible loss but no actual proof. I took out the resonator and used a K&N panel filter for a better result. Great sound and actually feels better than stock.

It's been said many times and backed up by dyno so I'm not arguing what you're saying....
But I dunno, I just can't agree based on my experience with it. I have driven my car with the AEM V1 and later AEM V2 CAI back to back with stock. There is no way around it, the car DEFINITELY FEELS faster. Everytime I say that, I know people laugh because they'll just say it is placebo effect, the sound or just seat of the pants. I had 3 people with stock TLs and 1 TL-S owner drive my car at the time and they all agreed they could feel a difference from a car with stock intake. I know the only way I could truly prove it would be to post my own dyno results. Hehe, it's really not that serious. All I know is I spent a lot of time going back and forth on this, I can't help but stick by what I say. And that CAI was one of my best mods.

I believe horsepower gains or losses on intakes/CAI vary from engine and mods. Not sure you guys are paying attention to the dyno chart. Our vehicle ran super super rich on our dyno when stock (11.49 to 1). Then we installed the RV6 PCDs, it actually ran a bit leaner (12.37 to 1), however overall still rich. I believe if we are able to tune the vehicle with like a AEM, Hondadata or etc, along with a J-pipe and a full exhaust system, an intake/CAI system may actually help.

but these aftermarket intakes like injen, AEM others are crap.
the reason why you see minimal gains for an aftermarket intake is because Honda designed the stock intake VERY WELL!
the throttle body will ALWAYS be the limiting factor or bottle neck.

Thank you Mike for keeping everyone informed! I will try to get on here more often.

Somone drop off a car and we will build a true dual system.
Sounds exotic
<<<@!2!@>>>
Yes sir. It has already been tested and proven.
<<<@!3!@>>>
We lost 3whp with a Taketa on a Accord.
<<<@!4!@>>>
PCDs and HFPCs are the closest thing to headers for this car. There is a single port in the front and the back.
<<<@!5!@>>>
Yes Sir Jpipe is coming soon.

Nevermind I see this application on the RV6 website for the MDX. Are there seperate dyno's for both the high flow cats and PCD's? Curious to know how much of a performance difference there is between them

We have dynos for the new 9G accords. The MT is more accurate since we didn't have to force downshift the AT. The HFPCs make a little more torque and the PCDs more peak horsepower. The HFPCs are great since there is no smell or drastic increase in volume.

There is a good chance with HFPCs depending on the facility. However all these parts are sold for off road use.

I hope someone will come out with an aftermarket rear bumper that will allow us to see exhaust tips. IMHO, I've always thought the quad tip exhaust looks beautiful on Acuras; fits so nicely. And with RV6's exquisite work, it'd be nice to show them off if he is planning on producing TD for the TLX
