I think both the front and back look great - much better than the original. In fact, I think I like the overall exterior more than my TLX A-Spec. The inside looks good too, but if they didn't fix the NVH, it's still going to feel like a Civic.

At we'll have an idea of the design language to expect in the next TLX. Looks sharp on the outside. it's too bad they didn't put in extra work into the interior, but this will probably continue to be a low volume car.

Given that it's still based on the 9th generation Civic platform (which itself was largely a refresh of the 8th generation platform from 2005), I can say with full confidence that it's still going to feel like a cheap Civic. It would be a massive upgrade if it felt like the current Civic. The only thing premium about this car is the price.

I like the styling direction moving away from beak was their best move in years, even if that A is a bit large.

Hmmm...the ILX is getting a second refresh. I’m disappointed that the 10G Civic 1.5T 6MT didn’t transfer over in some form. (Type S model?)

Still needs a new head unit. And turbo. I’m hoping with no spy photos and it coming next month, that a new TLX is on its way and maybe we’ll get a nice Xmas surprise.

I kept thinking the Acura logo was too big too, but then I saw what they did on the 2019 Inifiniti QX50. It was as big as a dinner plate. Seems like the trend now. Or manufacturers seem to only be able to hide the radar/camera sensors this way.

Not exactly a review as much as a description of what the update is...

I think it's nice looking - but the prior model was nice looking too. Performance and NVH etc etc was the issue, let's hope they moved the ball down the field a bit on those issues.

Surprised they did this. So, they will try to milk this for another 2-3 years??? I just don't see a new generation in the cards for ILX. Heck, even the TLX could be chopped.

There's a development mule that is probably the next TLX. If Acura wants to bring back the ILX for a next-gen, they better put some serious effort into it. I'm thinking a gentleman's coupe based on the Civic Type R with SH-AWD would slot nicely under the TLX Type-S. And rename it back to RSX. ILX nameplate should go the way of the dodo.

It’s based on the already-good Honda Civic platform...
Uh...if I remember correctly, the last generation Civic was universally panned as being one of the worst Civic platforms to date.

It is a great looking car, much nicer than the Civic IMHO, which is an excellent car, but a little design confused at the back end. I already thought the previous ILX had good driving dynamics - but will have to drive this model. Now it depends upon marketing and of course SALES! Funny thing about the new grill - I love my TLX and also love the new grill. I'm a happy Acura owner, so have 0 issue with the logo size - plus I know its also a practical matter re sensors.
